Perfect for a family vacation—dogs are welcome—but it’s also a great choice for a group of 6–8 adults. The large kitchen-dining area, which blends nostalgia with modernity and features the fireplace, invites you to spend time together.

The house is perfectly located, as there’s something for everyone in the surrounding area.
In Kirchhatten, about 4 km away, there’s a heated outdoor pool and a climbing forest; the Westrittrum swimming lake and the Ostrittrum Animal and Leisure Park are also easily accessible by bike. Starting July 15, various providers offer canoe rentals on the nearby Hunte River.
Those seeking peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle will find it in the Barneführerholz forest, which practically begins right at our doorstep.
For cycling enthusiasts, the Wildeshauser Geest—where we’re located—with its “Road of Megalithic Culture,” as well as the city of Oldenburg, offer many great destinations for day trips.

Other attractions within a radius of about 30 km include the Thülsfeder Dam—which also features another climbing forest—the Thüle Animal and Leisure Park, the Jaderberg Animal and Leisure Park, the sauna facilities at Olantis Oldenburg for the winter, “Auszeit” in Wildeshausen, and the Saunahaus in Ganderkesee. Those who appreciate fine dining will find the world’s highest-quality beef at Wagyu Hof Auetal in Garrel (please check their channels directly for opening hours), as well as excellent cuisine at Gut Alton near Wildeshausen or at the Ländgasthaus Brüers in Munderloh.

Other great options include the Demeter Farm Cooperative in Grummersort for Demeter products (Friday afternoons), the “Kleine Kippkarren” in Neuhatten—about 3 km away—during the summer, and the Backhus farm store in Sandkrug. Of course, there are also many other fantastic seasonal stands for items such as asparagus and berries.
