Basel City Centre5 nights4.0 star property9.4/10 - Exceptional (213 reviews)"We enjoyed our stay at Art House Basel for the most part. The staff went above and beyond with restaurant recommendations and were incredibly helpful with getting our delayed luggage delivered 15 minutes before our River cruise departed (two full days after we arrived in Basel!). The location was perfect for sightseeing and art museums. My criticisms: The room lighting, especially near the vanity, was terrible. It created dark shadows and made it difficult to put makeup on. The pocket door..."Reviewed November 3, 2026Roundtrip • Edmonton (YEG) - Basel (BSL)YEG - BSL • 2 stops BSL - YEG • 3 stopsCA $2,565CA $2,216found 9 hours agoper traveller - Riverside Hotel Merian - opening 2026

There were some issues with the elevator, which wasn't working during our stay, but it wasn't a big deal for us. The check-in process was unnecessarily convoluted; it could certainly have been much more expeditious. All in all, it was a very good stay."Reviewed November 3, 2026Roundtrip • Edmonton (YEG) - Basel (BSL)YEG - BSL • 2 stops BSL - YEG • 3 stopsCA $2,413CA $2,089found 9 hours agoper traveller - Krafft Basel

Haslach-Egerten Hotel Deals
"The hotel in general was ok and very close to the centre The stuff was not helpful at all with some of them with zero knowledge of basic English. The room was very cold and a noise coming from the plumbings pipe wakes us at 6 in the morning every morning"
HOKK Hotel
HOKK Hotel"Stay was ok. Lift was hidden in the stairwell. It’s about a 6min walk from the tram and then a 20min ride into the city centre. Restaurant/cafe was closed for most of my stay. Cafes and supermarkets are not nearby. No room cleaning was done (or offered as far as I could see). Not a great location to explore the area from, but that’s on me - I’ll do my research better next time. When I interacted with staff, they were friendly."
"The property is dated. More geared toward older/retired people. Location is not great. Too far from town center. The room was fine. A comfortable chair would have been nice."
Premier Inn Freiburg City Süd
Premier Inn Freiburg City Süd"Nice little hotel. We have a car so we don’t need to use public transportation, but everything seems closely located. The hotel had parking. If you are lucky, there will be a free parking next to the hotel. If you plan to use the hotel’s parking, get a small car. It’s tight"
"excellent breakfast"
Hotel Schwärs Löwen Freiburg
Hotel Schwärs Löwen Freiburg"The hotel is old, rooms are old, however, it was very, very quiet, safe and clean. The breakfast was excellent, very hearty with lots of variety. A great place to stay right outside of Freiburg with easy driving access to the old city. We would stay here again."
B&B Hotel Freiburg-Süd
B&B Hotel Freiburg-Süd"First night in air conditioner after three AC-less days in heatwave-oppressed Europe. Quite welcome. Parking available but scarce. We got the last one. Good keypunch entry system to get into the rooms."
Hampton by Hilton Freiburg
Hampton by Hilton Freiburg"The only issue was shower in my room oscillating between hotter and colder water every 1-2 minutes Other than that, very nice hotel in a convenient area with bunch of restaurants around and hot breakfast that was pretty good included"
