Important: Lake Moraine 2026-2028



The New York State Canal Corporation is rehabilitating the Madison Reservoir Dam. The lake is drawn down 10 feet through 2028 to allow construction. The lake is still a lake — kayaking, swimming, fishing, and paddleboarding all continue, and there is no construction noise at the cottage.



What this means for your stay: The shoreline directly behind the cottage is exposed mud at low water. Lake activities for our guests run from the Colgate Boathouse —which is directly connected to the property. No need to go anywhere else. Kayaks, paddleboards, and life vests are stored there, available self-serve. Your view from the deck (and the hot tub) is still the lake — just lower than usual. Yes, really. Steaming on the deck under the stars after a fall hike, a winter Colgate game, or a summer day on the lake. The single feature that makes this cottage different from every other rental on Lake Moraine — and the reason this cottage holds full demand straight through the drawdown years.

Sleeps 6 in two bedrooms with smart TVs in each room and the living room. One full bath. Fully-equipped modern kitchen and dining room. Outdoor grill, fire pit with wood provided.
