The neighbourhood is very safe, with lots of restaurants and bars (as well as some shops, art galleries, even a theatre) in very easy reach, and an easy walk from the Malecón and downtown Guayaquil. The staff were very helpful. Breakfast was fine. But again, it is the building that is the star here: an exceptional place in an exceptional location. Staff was wonderful—accommodated my request to change my reservation to the next day when my flight was delayed and gave me breakfast at 6:30am for an early morning flight. Be ready for lots of steps (it’s an old building and there is no elevator). Staff was extra attentive. The only downside was no on site parking. Had to park several blocks away. It’s located in a very historical and touristy neighborhood with art shops and security guards. The room is very beautiful with floor windows overseeing the river and iguanas on the tree across the street. They also have a nice terrace on the third floor to hangout. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
