We had a excelent tour guide (Franklin) at our disposal for boat and walking excursions at anytime. He had a vast knowledge of the flora and fauna, having grown up in the area. We flew into San Carlos and took a 6-7 hour boat trip down the river to SJN. Patricia was knowledgeable, informative, and quick to respond in helping me to organize arrival and departure details. The Lodge has large rooms with comfortable beds and hot showers. And they were happy to accommodate my dietary requirements. Franklin was an amazing guide; he found sloths, caimans, crocodiles, frogs, lizards, bats, and an amazing selection of birds. Drifting through the jungle was amazing. No need to even leave the lodge.
