The positive first: A very nice and helpful lady is the keeper of the place. Unfortunately the negative is heavy. Everything is very old, the room is small, the mattress is terrible, the tiny bathroom is smelly and a major noisy road passes 100 meters away. The breakfast is not on site but in a coffee shop on the other side of the busy road. I booked far ahead of our trip to Australia and paid 260 AUD per night, more than I paid in 4 star hotels in downtown Sydney or Melbourne. This is a complete reap off. It definitely would be 1 star if it was not for this nice keeper. Jo was a tremendous host and cook, providing a wonderful breakfast and the option for dinner which was sensational. Room was great as was the king size bed which was very comfortable. Great shower with plenty of pressure. Whilst there was an indoor area to wine and dine, the weather encouraged us to enjoy the outdoor Italian setting, just lovely. We also had our small dog join us and Jo was more than accommodating to make us and our dog feel comfortable. Greta is a small quiet town now bypassed by the main road. An old cottage with modern facilities interesting furniture, very helpful host, good breakfast, excellent value for money. Easy walk to the Working Mens Club for dinner which was enjoyable or a few minutes drive to Branxton for more choice.
