The Gooding University Inn, the old Gooding College building, is full of history and makes an excellent getaway for 1 person to large reunions. This is not a "cookie cutter" stay, the facility is unique and is full of charm. It was abandoned and neglected for many years and is now being remodeled and updated. There is a lot of work done, but it is "a work in progress", if you are looking for a Marriott like facility this is not it. The environment is open and rustic, with large hallways and rooms and some parts of the building needing finishing touches. We know you will enjoy making treasured memories with us.
This beautiful historic building was the Gooding College, built in 1920. It has been restored/modernized and makes a wonderful getaway for family get-togethers and other events.
West Wing: The west has 15 bedrooms (each sleeps 2-8 people), 9 bathrooms, and a fully remodeled/modernized kitchen, dining room, game room and more . Currently we have beds for over 60 people, plus cribs and portable playpens. Also the Theater Room with High Definition Surround Sound and 3D movies, and a large play/gathering room (22'x75’) is included. Please take a look at the photos to see how beautiful this building is.
East Wing ($350/night, due on arrival) The east wing will add 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms to your space. If you need the extra space the east wing sleep 36 additional people in comfort. THE EAST WING IS ONLY AVAILABLE IF YOU ARE RENTING THE WEST WING.
Check In: 4:00 pm (contact us if you need to come or drop stuff off early) Check Out: 11:00 am (let us know if you leave early, so we can get a jump on cleaning)
Gooding is a quiet small town but there's lots to do:
Gooding City of Rocks Gooding City of Rocks is an area of unusual and highly scenic rock formations. Erosion has carved fascinating spires and hoodoos from the underlying deposits of solidified volcanic ash. Excellent hiking, sightseeing and solitude. About 15 miles north of Gooding on Highway 46, turn west at the BLM sign for Little City of Rocks. Follow the signs and travel about 7.5 miles on a generally well-maintained dirt road, which is suitable for passenger vehicles if conditions are dry. We rented the Inn for my daughter’s 16th birthday because she loves all things haunted. It’s a charming place with all the comforts of home. Rooms are comfortable, beautifully decorated, and everything was super clean. We’re already thinking of events that would give us a reason to go back!

Reunion
Large facilities for big gathering. Plenty of room for everyone. Cleanliness/upkeep of property could be improved but everyone enjoyed their stay and we were able to cook and visit for 3 days in a central location.
We enjoyed our stay especially for the fact that there were bedrooms for everyone. The host responded immediately to questions and was helpful & considerate. No encounters with ghosts but we will be back to try again. A unique experience!
We had 49 people ranging from babies to great grandparents. This was a great space. We loved that the bedrooms were on the second floor so the teenagers could be loud in the basement and not wake the babies and young kids 2 floors up. The kitchen was well stocked.
We had a family reunion with 75 people. We rented both wings and had more than enough room. Super well equipped: bedding and towels for everyone, toys for the kids, roasting skewers at the fire pit, every kitchen item imaginable for cooking for a big crew, multiple high chairs. Seriously, very well thought out for a big family group. Lots of big areas to play indoors and out. They even rent some bounce houses for an extra fee. Very good option for a big family reunion.
This place is really great. I brought 55 family members. There was enough room for us to spread out with a place to sleep and hang out. The kitchen had all that we absolutely needed.
Everything was clean and pretty much ready for us. We did have to make our own beds upstairs, but it turned out fine. Lots of the kids slept in the basement on the provided cushions. The place has a couple great spots shaded by trees and patio chairs that we could lounge in to enjoy the nice summer breezes. The place was well cooled with AC units. Anyway, overall, many good things to say about the venue and the owners we worked with. Thanks for a great time!
The Gooding University Inn was a wonderful fit for our family reunion. Plenty of beds, bedrooms and bathrooms. The towels are ex large plus nice and thick. The game room was a HUGE hit! It was chuck full of toys!!! The massage chair in the hallway was delightful! The large living room open to dining area met we had room to all be together. And together is the best. The kitchen was well stocked with pot, pans, etc. even some waffle makers. 2 big roosters, which we used to slow cook ribs for 40 people before we grilled them. I love old buildings, I think they are doing a great job giving new life to her.
We had an extended family of 60, and there was room for all with beds to spare. The small children loved it! They found plenty of toys to play with and plenty of room to play. The teenagers loved playing pool, air hockey, and ping pong, plus hours of chess, Risk, and other games. We played games on the lawn, and the older adults had plenty of shade to visit and watch. My only complaint is that there was a musty smell in the basement and some of the bathrooms looked clean, but didn't smell clean. Oh, and we should have had the hosts lock some of the doors in between rooms because they didn't latch. I am sure that if you ask them, they will do that. The hosts were very accommodating. We had a great experience!
This was the perfect location for our family. There were plenty of beds for everyone. And bathrooms were very functional so there were never lines. The kitchen was spacious and well stocked so we were able to cook everything without issue. We had plenty of seating for meals and entertainment for the down times. When it was hot they had ac inside and when we were outside for our carnival there were plenty of trees for shade. We had a lot of room for our dance, talent show, and baby shower. And the teens had fun playing jackbox games and watching movies in the theatre room. We had one of our members in a wheelchair and they were able to participate in everything. It is close to civilization for those who like to sneak out for a midnight run but far enough out you are not distracted with the world. The host and hostes are wonderful. I would highly recommend this spot for anyone who is looking for a reunion destination for over 60 people Or a destination wedding. (Could have a great reception here)
Loved everything about our stay! We had 40 women join us for our annual retreat and they all had an amazing time. We love the homey feel that we find here. We’ll be back next year!
We had our family reunion here and loved it! We loved that we all got to stay in a central location and spend lots of time together! They had lots to do for everyone of all ages! We would love to stay there again.
We had a great time at the Inn. There was plenty of space for our reunion. The owners were wonderful and very responsive to any questions or needs we had.
We had a great stay. Plenty of room for everyone to have their own space, but still be together. We found lots of things to keep us entertained and the owners were easy to work with.
We had a wedding in Gooding and this location allowed all the family, friends and wedding party to all stay in one location. The owners were extremely responsive and accommodated our needs!
This is the second time we have hosted our family reunion here. Lots to do in the area and the house has everything needed to accommodate a large group. The owners are super sweet and easy to work with.
We had a great time! All of the toys throughout the building were awesome, our kids really enjoyed it. The kitchen was very useful -- making waffles for everyone was simplified by having four waffle makers and a kitchenaid mixer.
This place is excellent for large groups!
Check-in was quite easy, and the facilities were incredibly spacious. It really was the perfect size for our 50 family member reunion. Definitely not luxurious, definitely not fancy. But the dining space and the kitchen space were excellent, the game room and play area is downstairs were perfect for us, and we had all the rooms we needed. In that sense, it was a perfect pick for us.
