The house is just beneath the Church of Peter and Paul, a mere few steps from the bridge over the river. The old city centre and its towers, Baroque mansions, market squares, picturesque shady piazzas, fountains, and austerely elegant Art Nouveau department store are all within 5-10 minutes’ walk. The districts of for the most part impeccably preserved turn-of-the-century residential architecture are slightly further away. The gently flowing, curving river is ideal for contemplative walks. And on its opposite bank is Poland, where everything is subtly changed, the shops keep different hours and take zlotys, and even the air smells different. Andreas and Martina’s house is perfect and has been restored with love, taste, and care for details. We felt very snug, as if in our home. Andreas and Martina were very welcoming hosts.
