Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, this spacious, newly refurbished, one-and-a-half storey house is a fabulous choice for groups of friends or a family looking for a country getaway. It adjoins the National Trust’s Hindhead Commons– ideal for cyclists, dog walkers and nature-lovers. The delightful towns of Godalming, Farnham and Haslemere, with their extensive ranges of small independent shops, are all within 12 miles, and Petworth House and Losley Park, of Bridgerton and Sense and Sensibilities fame respectively, are 12-15 miles. Jane Austin’s house is 27miles, whilst the Royal Navy’s huge museum in Portsmouth, and the Brooklands (racing/aviation) museum are both under an hour and really worth a visit. You’ll be enjoying the feeling of space from the moment you step into the hallway of this welcoming property. There you’ll find a sofa where you can cosy up with a good book, and a desk ready for those who may need to catch up on admin whilst away. Head through to the bright and airy kitchen, where there’s everything necessary for creating delicious meals: including a five-point induction hob, double oven/microwave and larder fridge. Store food in the traditional pantry, which includes a freezer, a small table, sink and a tall wine rack. At one end of the kitchen is a casual breakfast table, while at the other there’s a long, formal dining table, comfortably seating eight for sociable meals. From here, the space flows into the light-filled lounge, where you can access the patio, or relax in the comfortable seating, basking in the sunlight streaming through the bay window or by the gentle, cosy glow of the wood burner. Alternatively, for anyone who wants to stream a movie or catch up on a box set, the media room has full-fibre broadband, a Smart TV and reclining sofas for the ultimate in relaxation. Also located off the kitchen is the utility room with a washing machine, and from there, three steps lead you down to the boot room/wet-dog room and the rear entrance to the property – perfect for dropping off muddy boots and coats after a long walk, and for drying off your four-legged friend;.There is also a separate WC just off the boot room. Two large bedrooms, a king-size and a double, both with some impressive antique furniture, are located on the ground floor. And, for long soaks or refreshing rinses, you’ll have a shower room and a delightful family bathroom on this level. There are two staircases in the property, one taking you up to a double room in the eaves, which has a wooden sleigh bed and an en-suite shower room, while the second leads up to a twin bedroom. An extensive garden, with lawn and mature trees, itself set in 62 acres of Surrey meadow and ancient woodland, wraps around the house and includes a patio with outdoor furniture and charcoal BBQ. It’s a place made for good food and good company; grilling something delicious for an al fresco meal or simply sipping a drink and listening to the birdsong. For fun and games, the former garage is equipped with a table tennis table and a dart board. This is also a handy space for storing bicycles.
