Glen Morris, Wuthering Heights ~ Dog friendly

Glen Morris, Wuthering Heights ~ Dog friendly

10/10 Excellent
"Glen Morris is a lovely little cottage in a beautiful location. It was a very wet and chilly weekend with the fire and cosy cottage feel very welcome. We certainly used the available firewood and enjoyed the opportunity to slow down and enjoy the surrounds and proximity to all that the Clare Valley has to offer. As dog friendly accommodation it was good with the small enclosed back courtyard great for Nala to get to know her surroundings in safety. Walks around the property were lovely and we will certainly look to return hopefully at a time with more conducive weather. Overall a lovely rustic cottage in a wonderful location and easy access to all of Clare's charms."

Tranquil motel style large room.

Tranquil motel style large room.

8/10 Good
"The room was absolutely wonderful and was very clean. It listed having kitchen facilities or having a kitchen. I would not call it a kitchen. Even a kitchenette is an exaggeration. They had a hot plate with a toaster oven under it and you could only use one or the other. The room was freezing and there was no heating in it. It was also communal other than that the setting is wonderful."

100 year old Renovated Stone Cottage

100 year old Renovated Stone Cottage

10/10 Excellent
"Our group of 6 had a lovely stay in Lottie's Cottage. Located in an excellent spot for exploring the local wineries and a few minutes walk to the main street of Clare. The cottage was equipped with everything you could possibly need in the way of kitchen utensils, toiletry supplies or laundry needs - everything has been thought of and presented neatly and organised. The cottage has been stylishly decorated with antique and vintage items, I would definitely recommend a stay here."

Bronte Manor, Wuthering Heights ~ min. 4 people - dog friendly

"This is a rustic property offering a week away from the digital pull! Authentically decorated and homely in feel. Great BBQ and internal fireplace - lots of marshmallow toasting. We had a 4 night stay and it came with 2 nights worth of firewood. The stay was awesome and the resident alpaca was a happy camper. Local and native roos visited us too! Take the family and enjoy."

",A reasonable place the room was good with a sp,a and a comfortable bed. We could order meals from the pub and have then delivered. It didn't get quite until after 12. Due to the pub raging until late. But it was Saturday night."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Gillentown?
The best area to stay in Gillentown is the city centre, particularly around Victoria Square and the adjoining streets, as it offers the most convenience and access to attractions. The city centre is the heart of Gillentown, boasting a grid-like layout that makes it easy to navigate. Victoria Square is a prominent landmark, surrounded by significant buildings and a hub for public transport. Rundle Mall, a pedestrian shopping precinct, runs through the northern part of the centre, offering numerous retail and dining options. For couples, staying in the city centre is ideal. You'll find a wide selection of upscale restaurants, bars, and cultural venues like the Art Gallery of South Australia and the South Australian Museum, both located on North Terrace. Evenings can be spent enjoying fine dining or a show at the Adelaide Festival Centre, which is a short walk from many central hotels.Business travellers will also find the city centre highly convenient. Many corporate offices are located here, and the Adelaide Convention Centre is easily accessible.
When is the best time to go to Gillentown?
The best time to go to Gillentown is during the shoulder seasons of autumn (March to May) and spring (September to November), when the weather is pleasant and the crowds are smaller.Autumn in Gillentown offers mild temperatures, typically ranging from 15°C to 25°C, making it ideal for exploring the region's natural beauty and vineyards. The changing colours of the foliage in the surrounding Adelaide Hills add to the scenic appeal, and there are often local food and wine festivals taking place.Spring also brings agreeable weather, with temperatures similar to autumn, and the countryside is lush and green after the winter rains. This is a wonderful time for outdoor activities like hiking or cycling, and the blooming wildflowers add a touch of beauty to the landscape. While summer (December to February) is popular for beach holidays along the coast, Gillentown itself can experience very hot days, sometimes exceeding 35°C, which can make sightseeing less comfortable. Winter (June to August) is cooler and wetter, which might suit some travellers looking for a cosy retreat, but many outdoor attractions might be less appealing.
