This is a beautiful unique hotel within an old mill. The building and the rooms within have been modernised to a high standard and they have kept some of the original features. The room itself was large with very high ceiling. The bathroom was also very nice and large. The only thing we could even pick up on was the lack of biscuits on the tea tray or hot chocolate sachets. Even at breakfast there is no hot chocolate option. However we would highly recommend the hotel and have no doubt that we will return.

Our check in at this hotel was excellent. We arrived distressed after much difficulty locating the hotel but the man at the front desk was calm and reassuring, providing directions. He assisted us in finding the car rental return and a restaurant nearby. As for the hotel we could not have been more disappointed. Upon exiting the elevator on the 5th floor we found a hallway that had floors that were sinking and uneven as you went down the halls. The room was very dark with outdated heavy dark velvet curtains, padded walls and minimal lighting. In the shower a light was out and there were only 2 towels in the room which smelled like pickles. The front desk person had someone bring towels and had the room "freshened.” At about 8:00pm someone down the hall started chanting and singing at the top of his lungs. This went on for about 45 minutes before we contacted the front desk. About 15 minutes later it stopped until about 2 am when it resumed quieter and resolved in a few minutes. We called about the TV not working and they offered to send someone up during the night but we declined as we were not dressed for visitors….. This should have been checked before our arrival! When we selected this room we were thrilled that it was walking distance to the train station and the car rental return. In the end we were just happy to leave this experience.
