# Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve Tours and Activities

![I will never forget #FoggDam, just off the Arnhem Highway, near Darwin - Australia.  
The amazing thing was that one can drive across the dam wall, seeing beauty in all directions; however, one could only stop in a few designated areas because of the risk of saltwater crocodiles.  
Well stop we did!  
I saw an abundance of flora and fauna.  The birdlife was amazing, forever impregnated in my vision and not on my little iPhone.  
Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve lies in the Adelaide and Mary River Floodplains with year round accessibility.  
There are also some adjacent, designated walking tracks if one has time!  For me, I spent my time looking for lillys and bird watching!

![What a great place to capture the most amazing sunsets and reflections. Many photo opportunities in this area. Just beware of the crocs and check road closures due to flooding in wet season. The apartment was great. Roomy, clean and very comfortable. All you needed to cook a simple meal. Good coffee at the Bakery across the road. Bit of a hike to a supermarket as the fine Foods store is pretty pricey.

The pool is amazing, it has a sandy beach at one end and is huge with a swim up bar. Unfortunately we could not swim off the real beach just in front of the hotel as it was rainy season and there is a risk of salty crocodiles and box jelly fish. The casino is huge and a bit off putting. Most rooms are pretty basic but we were welcomed with a bottle of sparkling wine, which was most welcome. The rooms around the big pool are really great

I swam through the warm spring waters at #BerrySprings a few times and saw some awesome fish, as well as getting up close to these Pandanus trees hugging the creek banks.  
Berry Springs is about a one hour drive from Darwin.  Easy for #waterlust-ing, #hiking, #picnicing, #relaxing and a pleasing place to visit on one's #weekendgetaway or #roadtrip.
