7.8/10 Good! (615 reviews)
This was our 4th stay at the hotel but the first under the new owners,
We arrived for our 3 night stay after 5pm and went to our room which was clean and warm, a bit too warm, we had to open the windows. There was also an issue with the shower head not staying up properly (reported when we left to receptionist)
After a rest we went down for a meal, the wife had macaroni cheese which was dry and uneatable, she took 3 - 4 spoonful's and 2 bites out of the garlic bread which was rock hard (see photo) a waste of £16.00. We both had soup and I had steak pie which was good. The other 2 nights we ate at Wetherspoons pub less than a 5 min walk away.
The following morning we went down for breakfast which was ok, the usual choice of sausage, b/pudding, scrambled eggs, beans etc you could also have porridge or cereal.
BIG PROBLEM was car parking, we had been advised that car parking was £10 for our stay, THIS IS NOT TRUE, it is £10 per night with an automatic £100 fine if you do not pay or move your car within 20 minutes of your arrival. Also if you took your car out during the day it did not guarantee you a space when you returned,
