Located just steps away from enchanting forest trails (more than 75 miles of trails), and with access to plenty of activities within the community—zip lining, horseback riding, biking, tubing in Elk Creek, or fly fishing in the Leatherwood ponds, just to name a few. You’ll be able to choose your own adventure here! At the end of the day, come home to a magnificent view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The hot tub, located on the spacious deck, is a perfect place to unwind. Inside the cabin, step into your home away from home – with its well-appointed kitchen and with plenty of room for everyone. Curl up in front of the wood burning fireplace in the living room, with plenty of natural light streaming in from the expansive windows. Hang out in the sunroom just off the dining room. Watch your favorite shows on the smart TVs on any of the 3 floors and enjoy fast Wi-Fi anywhere in the house. Play board games and hold foosball and air-hockey tournaments in the basement. Let your kids run around the fenced yard and play backyard games. Lots to do here, both outdoors and indoors! Second Breakfast is the ideal private retreat for up to 10 guests. Guests can enjoy ziplining and horseback riding adventures (reservations required), and experience the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains’ pristine wilderness. Guests have access to miles of hiking trails, mountain streams, stocked fishing pond, community swimming pool, playground and tennis courts, creek tubing (seasonal), on-site restaurant with active live music & event calendar (guest advised to check hours when planning meals). Leatherwood Mountains has surveillance or recording devices on the property. Our neighborhood is very safe and our property very secluded. For added peace of mind, we have security cameras by the gated entrance and common areas. Individual properties may also have cameras on the EXTERIOR of homes. Our children and grandchildren enjoyed the hot tub and we made good use of the fireplace. Certain areas of the cabin had not been cleaned and the dryer was not working properly but when we contacted property management, Carolyn and Sue worked hard to resolve our issues.to make sure we were satisfied. We would definitely stay at this property again because it was very spacious with lots of little extras. The mountains are waking up!" - Our 3-year-old This was an absolute joy of a place. We had 4 adults and 6 kids under the age of 8 together for a family weekend. The kitchen had more supplies than expected (even coffee, which saved us when we forgot!) The rooms were quite comfortable, the views were incredible of the side of the mountain reflecting the sunrise, the drive up the steep paved road was fine in the day—may have been a little dicey at night or in inclement weather. The basement was stocked with games and activities that were PERFECT for kiddos of all ages. Air hockey was a favorite: there were even little stools available for the toddlers to stand on and play, just another amazing example of the attention to detail. There were a few friendly ladybugs and stinkbugs that joined the party, but they were harmless. Overall just a lovely refreshing weekend in the mountains. We hope to return soon! Tip: Bring a couple humidifiers if you're there in the winter. Like most places, the air gets dry from the heat/fireplace. ##### Suz P. The basement area was perfect for our high school and college aged kids. The main level was perfect for my elderly grandmother and my mom. The upstairs was great for the rest of us. Everything we needed was there. The place was clean and very well maintained. Beautiful inside and out. The views were breathtaking. The owners have thought of and provided everything you could need and some things you would never think you need until you get there! The We have rented many vacation homes from the beach to the mountains and this was by far the best. We stayed the long weekend there- a pair of couples- and enjoyed every moment. The cabin was clean, aside from the small caterpillars that find their way inside (which is not a sign of anything negative - it's just mountain living!) The kitchen is well stocked, the deck and porch are nice and there is even some nice space outside the walk-out basement! If you're looking for peace and quiet away from town, this is a good spot, but if you want something closer I would look elsewhere. It took us a good half hour to get from the cabin into town. Fantastic property and resort. Very friendly staff, clean cabin with lots of space for 10+ people. Incredible views, lots of walking and horse riding trails. Very memorable trip for my family. First family ski trip (1.5 hr from slopes) and horse back riding as well. Several college kids said they were having the time of their lives. Oh, and the basement is also an entertainment room with foosball and air hockey tables. And if you like The Lord of The Rings, you'll be in heaven here! ##### Robert B.
