It is 40 minutes from most other towns, but that was perfect for us to take a day trip to Boone, or have dinner in Blowing Rock. The sunset is magnificent from this property. The managment company had informed us in advance that it might not be fixed. A repair person did come to work on it but unfortunately, it gave up the ghost. We did receive a small refund for the inconvience. - The house is 1.5 miles basically straight up a mountain, so be ready. The driveway into the actual house is about 1/4 mile of narrow pavement with a ravine on one side. It's safe to drive but just be careful. - this area is remote- a lovely setting but it's 1/2 hr to Wilkesboro and 45 minutes to Blowing Rock or Boone, so you can't run out and get pizza. Bring what you need for the most part. The country roads are twisty so be careful. Overall, if you are looking for a quiet, peaceful home with a wonderful view, this is just the ticket. ##### Michael and Lisa W. The seclusion from the outside world and the tranquility of untouched mountain range, was exactly what we needed to reset our minds and take a break from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives. The hot tub, and location of the hot tub, is amazing. We did have to call someone to come do the chemicals because the first time we got in it our legs and feet itched and turned red. It also had a "smell" to it. The water was also a little low. They responded super quick and the chemicals were off and had to be fixed. The king size bed in main bedroom on first floor was comfortable, always nice to have a good mattress when away from home. We didn't use the top two bedrooms (except to put our 1 year olds pack and play) so can't comment on those beds. It did seem like the cabin was cleaned weeks prior to us being there, pretty dusty and a lot of dead bugs laying around. Not that much of an issue except we had a one year old walking around exploring. Overall we loved the weekend we spent here and will definitely be back to Leatherwood Mountain Rentals and "Hold Your Horses" I would recommend to anyone. ##### Kristy D.
