Book this 4 bedroom, 3 bath log cabin that lies at the end of a long, extended driveway. It provides the peaceful serenity desired by folks who want to get away, but also be just a short distance from downtown Asheville (just 13 miles!) The Roost lies on 4 acres of land, and includes a small stream in certain areas, several types of fruit trees, and a huge wrap around deck for outdoor entertaining. The Roost can accommodate up to 14 guests (please read on to get more info about the number of beds, and sleeping accommodations), and boasts a huge 7-person hot tub, pool foosball and poker table, fire pit, a 65' HDTV w/home theatre system, and so much more! The kitchen is fully stocked with absolutely everything you'd need to entertain a large group of people. In addition to being custom built, The Roost also features several local artist paintings/installations, that help give it a truly unique feel. An incredible amount of love was put into this property to make it the special place that it is. The downstairs provides entertainment for the entire family. There is a pool & foosball table and antique poker table with chips and cards. The 65' HDTV has Direct TV, a blue ray DVD player and a home theatre system. The couch is extremely large and incredibly comfy, so the whole family can enjoy a cinematic experience together in style. There is also a separate checkers and chess table, as well as a surplus of board games. Additionally, there is a separate full size bed that functions as another sitting/sleeping/relaxing area. Three of the four bedrooms (2 kings and a queen) and 2 full baths are on the main floor, while the kids room with 2 sets of bunk beds (a twin and full bunk) is downstairs. The kids room has a 32' HDTV (w/Direct TV, DVD player and a Wii console), so they'll be entertained for hours! Adults can be on the main floor late, hang in front of the fire, watch TV (there's one in the Armoire next to the fireplace w/Direct TV), and have access to the kitchen etc. without disturbing the kids. The upstairs master and queen bedroom have ceiling fans and direct access to the beautiful wrap around deck. The queen bedroom has an attached bathroom with an incredible jacuzzi tub, so it is in essence another master bedroom. The bathroom is shared with the 3rd bedroom (not attached but right next door), and features a hand made king bed by an Asheville furniture designer. Therefore in all there are 2 Kings, 1 Queen, 3 Fulls, and 3 Twins (1 of the twins being the pullout couch). The Roost accommodates sleeping for 14 if you account for 2 people sharing beds for the Kings, Queen, and Fulls (not twins). The kitchen is large, and has all the appliances necessary to cook for large groups. There is also a grill outside that is available to guests. Attached to the kitchen is a front loading washer and dryer set, with plenty of detergent and dryer sheets so you can do laundry at anytime. The cabin has all the necessary linens for the beds, and has plenty bath towels, wash clothes etc. The Roost lies at the end of a very long driveway, so it is quiet and peaceful with absolutely no road noise. There are several hiking trails on the property to explore, as well as a stream to discover on your hike. The landscaping is gorgeous, with several types of fruit trees, flowers, plants etc. There is also a large fire pit with spots for 15 people. There is plenty of parking, including a carport for up to 2 vehicles. If you're looking for a beautiful and luxurious place that can accommodate a family or large group then look no further. We can’t say enough wonderful things about this place! Every little detail was thought of. There was so much room for our family with 3 teenagers and our family dog. The host and their local assistant were on hand to offer info about things to do in the area. They had great communication and were wonderful to work with. The house was nicely decorated, immaculate, and impeccably organized—incredible attention to detail. Thoughtful instructions and labeling throughout the house were helpful and enhanced the comfort of our stay. We cooked most of our meals at home, and the kitchen was perfectly stocked with more than enough cooking and serving utensils and supplies. We wish we could’ve stayed longer to enjoy the amenities (hot tub, pool table, foosball, arcade and board games, etc.) more! The house felt “secluded” in a good way, super peaceful, while still being close enough to lots of local eateries and attractions. (Visit some local farms, if possible!) You are in the woods but 20 minutes to downtown Asheville. It is well appointed and supplies are plentiful. We enjoyed our stay in comfort and abundant accommodations, the amenities are top notch. The gravel drive is long and my low profile car did not clear well, keep that in mind. There are plenty of options in Fairview, a charming community. The Food Lion has a very good selection, Whistle Hop and Turgua are nearby breweries with excellent food trucks scheduled, The Local Joint has great service and food, all are dog friendly. Rich and Ali are excellent hosts, reaching out to ensure contentment without being overly solicitous. Any issues were dealt with promptly and to our satisfaction. The house is just as listed and we were just a short drive to shops and restaurants in downtown Asheville. The kitchen is well stocked, there was plenty for my kids to do at the house while we made our plans for the day each morning. Asheville is still recovering from Helene so we were limited in what was open for outdoor adventures but most of downtown is back open. The house is well secluded and has a long gravel driveway. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and my kids have been recommending the house to their friends since we got back. ##### Nicole H. This cabin was an oasis of perfection in an area recovering from a terrible storm. It was sad driving through nearby areas to get there, but this place seemed unscarred by the devastation! It was perfectly decorated. The beds were comfy with nice pillows and linens. And plenty of linens too. The kitchen had everything we could need. We grilled out and were in the large hot tub every night. We slept like babies with the black out curtains. The boys loved the games downstairs. Bathrooms were nice and spotless. Great for kids and dogs. We enjoyed the hot tub and made s’mores by the fire! Location is not too far from downtown Asheville, Biltmore or Sierra Nevada. It was clean and had all the amenities that were advertised. The manager kindly let us know that the house was ready and we could check in early. The Roost is well appointed and was the perfect amount of space for our group of 9\. The tween/teen kids loved all of the games and basement space for entertainment. The large dining table was the perfect spot for family meals and evening group games. We had everything that we needed for a comfortable stay. Both the owner and property manager were incredibly helpful and very responsive and offered wonderful suggestions for the Asheville area. It was a great week! ##### Kerri N. Stayed at the roost for a long weekend with a party of 14 for a 40th birthday. The property was absolutely beautiful and clean. Communication with owner and property manager was amazing and very helpful in planning our trip ahead of time. Recommendations made for tours, hikes and a private chef made our trip so memorable and special. Would love to return in the future for another group gathering. We had two families staying for a long spring break weekend and we couldn’t say enough good things about this home. There was enough room for everyone to sleep and play. Anything and everything you could want! We were thoroughly impressed by the organization of the home. I don’t think I have stayed in a better vrbo in my life. Wonderful game area in the lower level. We cooked every night and there was everything we needed in the kitchen. Hot tub was used every day as well. The serene setting in the woods was exactly what my family needed. And on days we ventured out, everything was within 20 minute's. The organization of the kitchen and each room was perfect. I truly did not want to leave! 3 of our 5 kids and their spouses also enjoyed the Roost. My 3 year old Grandson cried when we left. Thank you for sharing your beautiful cabin! ##### Amy M.
