"My wife and I are on vacation in Germany and a stop in Rothenburg is a must. Checking in was simple. The desk clerk was very helpful and spoke English and German. Our room was on the top floor of the hotel facing the street. The room interior was clean, modern and furnished well. The bathroom was nice, spacious with a tub/shower combined. "We absolutely loved the central location and the atmosphere of the old hotel. It was clean and the staff was friendly. We stayed in room 15 and you could watch everyone shoot photos. We loved having a safe place to park for a small fee. The only drawback was the shower. It went from warm to scalding hot, then back to cold. My husband and i were both burned mid-shower. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay. "

The room itself was pretty good - fairly dated and non descript, the bathroom shower was leaking and the tub was high off the ground, and the shampoo was empty but we were only there 1 night so not a huge deal. "As others have said, it is an odd check-in experience. Your in a lobby with vending machines and an ATM, and do an automated check in that was straight forward and delivers your keys. The entrance is on the left side of the building outside the lobby, and you do have to climb a flight of stairs to the rooms. The place feels totally empty.
