It was spotless, probably one of the cleanest homes I’ve seen, and provided a comfortable stay with a well equipped kitchen, WiFi TV and AC. The cottage is close to other homes, but it’s a peaceful and quiet area. The few neighbors I encountered were very friendly. I notified the owner and she sent someone to check the area. He found a nest under the stairs which he destroyed. Properly maintained property would never a wasp nest by the entrance.We made the reservation based on the representation there was lake access. We went to the lake with the town pass and were immediately met by a guard who asked if we live in the area. We said we were renting a house for two nights. She said we cannot use the lake and the owner should have told us this. She said it was not a new policy. Only residents, not renters, are permitted. On the second day of our three day vacation we were again refused lake access. I told the owner the first day and she said she would contact the town. Nothing happened.We were not told in advance that the house water was not drinkable (read it it in the brochure in the house)and had to drive 12 miles to buy bottled water.Each day my eyes and face swelling worsened. This vacation was the worst I have ever had. We asked for a full refund and the owner reimbursed us for one night. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOUSE. ##### Carl B. We had some work to get done in the area, and our daughter attended a spring break day camp in the area for each day of the week. When we wanted to go out to eat, the area restaurants were excellent; but I was also able to cook (and grill) each night that we wanted to save money and stay in.
