Very close to the center and everything accessible in a walking distance. A couple of minor things to be improved to make the stay even better. Slightly more careful with the cleanliness as were some spots needed more attention but not something that is not possible to stay in. The toiletries should be supplied in a daily base or provide sufficient for the stay. The Wolsey is accessed through a back entrance off a small car park. The only ground floor window is the entrance door which faces the car forecourt, no openings. The Wolsey has no access to the rest of the period building. The room rate is very high given the low standard of bed/mattress, towels and cleanliness. There is a significant drain odor that permeates the entire area. Car parking space is not guaranteed, the general public use the car park. The communucation with the management company was excellent from the start . Great location for walking around the historic city of Durham and close to a lovely river walk . Driving maybe not so great as the Elvet road was closed for long term maintenance. Meaning a lengthy detour was required.. Parking at these premises was a bit uncertain but the management assisted us greatly with an alternative. Getting the driving issues out the way everything else made up for it . The historic property has been restored to embrace the history and create a modern look at the same time . Well stocked with everything we needed. Clean, comfortable , great location and the knowledge that the management team responded in an instant and very friendly manner. They really care about their guests. There is no parking as part of the apartment but lots of parking in the street. The apartment is clean, modern having been recently refurbed with Dishwasher, washing machine and a full kitchen. There are a few small faults with water damage/damp above one of the windows, this is an old property, but didn't detract from the stay. We were staying with teenagers so a bedroom was made up as twin beds which was perfect!
