"The property is a newly built house, great design, very ill maintained. Smelly blankets, no bedsheet between the blanket and your body. Uncleaned rags in front of the bathroom. No tea-coffee and hot water kettle in the room, no water bottle in the room. I paid $43 for my stay, seems there are better options nearby at half the price."

"A notre arrivée, l'hôtelier nous a dit qu'il n'y avait pas de réservation à notre nom, qu'il venait de racheter cet hôtel et que pour pouvoir y dormir, il fallait annuler notre réservation auprès d'hotel.com (ce qui était impossible sans perdre les 60 € déjà payés car il nous demandait une annulation pour le jour même) et qu'ensuite, il fallait le payer en espèces le prix de la chambre (environ 45 €). "Shehan and Shri run this awesome guesthouse, and they are fantastic! They are wonderfully kind and thoughtful. They have extensive international hospitality experience, and they helped me arrange top-notch transport from Colombo, around Anurhadapura, and a dream tour around the ancient cities—all very last-minute. The room was cute, clean, and cozy. Very reliable hot water and AC. Delicious, nourishing food. Guesthouse is 2 minutes walking to some shops and a solid locals’ dinner spot. Prices for private touring transport were very reasonable, and the drivers were kind, extremely professional. I was solo and felt very safe. They also were kind enough to take photos and provided some pertinent historical/cultural guidance as we toured. "

"The main reason i score this hotel 1 star is because the hotel manager ripped me off on a tour.. he charged me 130 euro on the basis i was the only booking… he subsequently sold a couple later that day and charged them 80 euro each… of course i asked what they paid, so i was annoyed and told him… eventually he refunded approx 25 euro… not a good experience at all… One other small but interesting point.. one breakfast i didn’t get to choose from the menu.. i was served beef curry..without a choice, from the last nights dinner menu Don’t stay here!!!"

"Great stay! Stayed 1 night. Very personalized service. The manager greets and checks in with each guest several times throughout the start as needed. Sri Lankan breakfast was great! Pool very nice. Was able to arrange a tuktuk transfer to several of the archaeological and religious sites within Anuradhapura for 5000 rupees (3-4 hours tour). Highly recommend!"
