I enjoyed our stay. Loved the room. The fireplace was a nice touch. My only complaint if I can really call it that, is the resort fee. What “amenities” warrant an extra charge? According to the website, a comfy bed, a virtual concierge and a spiritual library. I mean I guess I could have asked for a Bagavad Gita to be brought to my room at midnight but in my mind, resort fees mean there is a sauna or hot tub. Maybe a game room? Just charge $35 more and cut it with the disingenuous fee. Lovely hotel though and would stay there again.

The bar closes at 10. The restaurant won't seat you without a "reservation" even though it's half empty. They probably have a staff shortage but won't admit it. Lobby tables left un-bussed. We had to do it ourselves. Room service, vacuums, etc are left in the hall for multiple days, let alone hours. And those nice, clear shower doors? Accumulated soap scum from previous guests. The beds were comfortable and the rooms quiet, which was the most important. Overall, a disappointing experience.

Parking is hard to find. Overnight valet expensive

The location is near Fred Meyer (fuel, shopping). The remodel turned out nicely. We did not have our dog this trip, but it is a good place when she travels with us. There was a daily bother with needing the card key re-programmed. I saw others having this problem. Luckily it was not raining when this occurred.

We chose this hotel for its convenient location within walking distance of a concert hall, restaurants, and shops, and importantly, for its self-parking option. Self-parking in downtown is surprisingly hard to find, so that was a big plus. The hotel is older and on the smaller side, but well maintained. The one area that could use more attention is the edges of the walls and glass doors in the bathroom, which needed a more thorough cleaning. One unexpected surprise: there is no in-room coffee unless you request it. Worth knowing before you arrive. Our reservation was for two adults and a 15-year-old child, and all three of us checked in together. The sofa bed bedding was not in the room, and when we called the front desk, we were told we should have requested it at check-in. Our child is 15 and taller than both parents, so it should have been clear that three people cannot share a king bed. Having the sofa bed bedding already in the room, or simply asking at check-in, would go a long way in making guests feel well taken care of. It does not hurt to ask.
