The young lady at check-in was very friendly and helpful, so no complaints at all concerning her. Parking was ample, as we seemed to be almost the only guests there. The room was NOT clean: lots of visible stains on the carpet, and the shower curtain was stained and dingy as well. The towels looked clean, but each one we unfolded contained wads of long, dark-colored hair (we are all light-haired). Seems a little odd that back door to the hotel is not protected by a keycard lock. It is a safe area, but I have never seen a hotel that had an exterior door just accessible to the public 24/7. We did not use the pool or hot tub, so cannot speak to the cleanliness there, and we did not partake of the breakfast. Overall, we were not impressed with the upkeep of this hotel, and if we need to stay in this area again we will look for another place in Petoskey or Harbor Springs.

The shared area between cabins was fun for my kids & the lake was beautiful. The area seemed safe and parking was not an issue, plus there was easy access to the many Mackinac activities. We arrived to discover there were no sheets on beds and no towels. The listing says “towels provided” and does not mention bringing your own sheets. We called the owner who responded promptly, but stated only one hand towel was provided, and we could get sheets and bath towels for an added fee. Despite my explaining this was not what the listing stated, he made it clear I had very little choice. It was late, the nearest open store was a long drive. The cabin was dirty, cobwebs in corners, filthy windows, a piece of dried out disgusting bread between the cabinet and the wall. We also discovered the “cleaning protocol” on checkout included scrubbing the shower, toilet, fridge, counters and vacuuming. Perhaps this is the only cleaning the cabin receives between guests…. Also, there were 5 kayaks to use, but only 4 paddles and 2 paddle boats, but both broken. All in all one of the worst places we’ve stayed.

Cute cabins that are all very individual. The owners are easy to deal with, the cabins are clean and it was a wonderful experience.
