My room have AC/Balconey and there is a large swimming pool. Sri Lankan breakfast very tasty. Only problem is a bit out of the way however they do have bicycle you can use. There are a bunch of resorts up the road that cater to tour groups and you are stuck in the middle of nowhere. The staff are extremely helpful and try and make your stay as comfortable as possible. The breakfast was amazing especially with the views. Me and my family did a tour of Sri Lanka staying at 7 hotels over the 18 days. This was for me, the best hotel out of all of them. From the first moment we arrived, we were mesmerised by the layout of the complex. It looks amazing and very posh from the first impression! The young men working for the hotel were all wearing traditional Sri Lankan uniforms. They were all very polite, professional and clearly knew about hospitality. We were travelling with a private driver and they provided accommodation as well as breakfast to him free of charge! We were welcomed with freshly made passion fruit juices (which were delicious!). The rooms were unbelievable- had AC, mosquito nets/repellent plugs, refridgerator, iron etc. The bathroom was also incredible. Very clean and professional. Felt like it was a 4-5 star standard easily! The food was definitely one of the highlights for me. It was a traditional Singhalese Sri Lankan menu with lentils, sambar, appam and the most amazing Sri Lankan pancakes I've ever tasted in my life. I literally asked the waiter to tell them how amazing it was. The aunty came out and was beaming with joy- showing us the recipe and what goes into making it. The overall hospitality of everyone at Hotel Freedom Village made it feel so homely. The owner even showed us around the grounds the next morning, letting us taste the fresh honey, mangoes from the trees etc. We were sad to leave.
