It was nice staying at a place that felt like a family owned hotel - I was driving along old Route 66 and this added to the trip. The property was clean and some of my fellow inhabitants were some of the most interesting that I met on my trip, interesting in a good way - nice people who stopped to talk and wished you well on your journey. The lady, who was the manager/owner took over 12 minutes to check my family in, and I had pre-purchased the room through hotels.com. Getting to the room it was clean and basic, but the heater sounded like it was going to explode every time it ran, the small refrigerator made a constant grinding noise, just made for a long night and we were only in the room for less than 8 hours. The hotel listing says it has a breakfast, but that is a huge overstatement. There were no muffins, fruit, donuts, etc. There was stale cereal, one english muffin (I have a family of 5), little debbie honey buns, and a waffle maker. Staff was friendly and parking was well lit. The hotel is an older hotel and was not very busy on a Friday night. The room was initially cold (55-60) but understandable as all rooms exit to the outside and they save by not leaving the heat up in vacant rooms. We turned the heat up and went to dinner, the room temperature was fine when we returned. Tv had more channels than some hotels I have stayed in from major cities. The room was dated but was comfortable and I new what I was getting.
