Built from the local honey-coloured limestone, this spacious cottage is surrounded by mature planting and during the summer months, white roses clamber around the front door. The interior is stylish and thoughtfully laid out with plenty of space to be both sociable but also offer a little peace and quiet when needed. The generously proportioned living room has a cosy open fire, the dining room seats eight comfortably and there's a superb kitchen. The former garage has been converted into a games/utility room with a pool table and a dartboard, the door to the kitchen can be closed if the competition gets animated! Upstairs are three spacious bedrooms; the fourth room can be used as a snug or the double sofa bed can be made up for use as a bedroom, perfect for children or teenagers. The private gravel drive provides parking for up to three cars, whilst to the rear, the enclosed garden has a lawned area, a patio with a square dining table and rattan-style seating for eight. It's a peaceful spot to spend lazy afternoons before enjoying an evening of alfresco dining with treats rustled up on the gas barbecue. Younger guests can enjoy games of hide and seek in the rear garden. Ground Floor Entrance Hall: The covered porch has a Cotswold stone bench, where you can rest weary legs to remove muddy boots. The front door opens into a large entrance hall where you'll find a wooden shoe rack and welly rack tucked under the stairs and coat hooks. There's also a ground floor cloakroom with a hanging rail, which is perfect for drying wet outdoor gear. The warm wooden flooring flows from the entrance hall into the living room and dining room. Living Room: This spacious room has windows to the front and side and double doors which open out to the enclosed rear garden. The focal point is the open fire which sits within a Cotswold stone fireplace, the cosy glow of flames is welcome on cooler evenings. There is ample seating with a comfy two-seater and three-seater leather sofa and an armchair strewn with plump cushions. Catch up on your favourite box sets on the 50" Smart TV or spend fun evenings around one of the many board games provided. The sideboard beneath the front window has a Sonos speaker and is packed with children's books and games. Dining Room: Opening from the living room and entrance hall this open space features a large oak dining table, which seats 8 comfortably, and two stylish pendant lights. The bookshelves offer plenty of reading material for guests of all ages. Kitchen: The stunning kitchen will undoubtedly be the hub for social gatherings. The vaulted high ceiling showcases the triple-strand light fitting and sparkly glitter ball, and the generous breakfast bar is conducive to lazy morning coffees, quick snacks or relaxing with a glass of wine, whilst culinary masterpieces are prepared. The blackboard wall is just crying out for epic games of noughts and crosses. Hidden behind the sleek white units you'll find everything you need for a self-catering stay including a dishwasher, Nespresso coffee machine, cafetiere and plenty of cookware, there is also a Smart TV. There is a built-in, eye-level Siemens double oven and a five ring Siemens induction hob. The American style-fridge freezer ensures there is plenty of chilled food storage. The window overlooks the rear garden and there's a back door for easy access to the outdoor dining area. Games/Utility Room: The converted garage alongside, housing the washing machine and an additional full-size drinks fridge, also plays host to a pool table and dartboard. The door between the games room and the kitchen can be closed should the games become animated! First Floor The carpeted stairs lead up to a roomy and airy landing, a feature light fitting hangs in the stairwell and stylish art hangs on the wall. Bedroom One: The master bedroom features an oak-framed king-size bed with bedside tables and reading lamps on either side. The triple wardrobe ensures there is ample storage so you can properly unpack. You'll also find a dressing table with a mirror and faux-hide stool, a wall-mounted Smart TV and glorious rural views over a field of grazing sheep to the rear. Ensuite: Adjoining the bedroom is a spacious ensuite with a large shower featuring a rainfall showerhead and a handheld shower, WC, a vanity unit with storage, a handbasin and a double-door mirrored bathroom cabinet. Bedroom Two: This large room offers peaceful rural views to the rear and is furnished with twin oak beds, and a nightstand sits between the two beds with a reading lamp. The village has a couple of nice pubs just a short walk away and a Morrison Daily and a good butchers. The cottage is about 70 yards away from the foot path to link into walks to the beautiful Chipping Campden and Hidcote Gardens. Situated in a lovely village within easy reach (circa 30 minutes) of many attractions. Garden quite small and website gives the impression of a much bigger space with views over the surrounding countryside. The views are there but only from the upstairs bedrooms. Local pubs very welcoming, food in King’s Arms particularly good. Local butchers sausages a must try. All in all a lovely stay, thank you. Jun 25, 2024 #### Beautiful Cotswold Home Myself and a group of friends stayed here for the weekend recently. The house was spotless and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The Kitchen is a fabulous place for drinking and chatting and we all got involved with the darts and pool after a few gins. It was nice to share breakfast together in the large dining room and although the weather was bad there is a nice garden and patio furniture available.Parking on the drive for 3 cars was no problem and the location is a few minutes walk from several pubs and shops. From a partner site ### 8/10 Good Apr 10, 2025 #### Perfect cottage for family gathering and exploring The Cotswolds Lots of space for communal activities. Enough bedrooms for privacy. Well equipped (needs a new toaster and a full length mirror). We made good use of the games room for darts and pool. We couldn't find the microwave (may have been part of the oven). Rear garden had comfortable furniture with seating for about 10 and it's a sun trap on the afternoon. There is a barbeque with gas provided (we didn't use it). Parking for 3 cars as described (we found it better to reverse in). There are 3 pubs, a village shop and a butchers in the village. Ideally situated for walkers, the Cotswold Way is about 50m away. Lots of picturesque villages not too far away, and a number of gardens to visit. Stratford upon Avon a short drive away. Recommended. Following the recent passing of my husband and my children’s dad we enjoyed a much needed break and we chose the perfect place, Woodside Cottage. It was perfect for us all plus our dog. Every need inside and outside the cottage was catered for including parking and a really lovely social space outside. My children loved playing pool and darts. The kitchen is stunning and all the rooms were amazing. The gift basket on arrival is a really lovely touch as is the bread and milk provided. The location in Mickleton meant we could eat out locally and was near to other places to visit.The whole process booking through Bolthole Retreats has been a pleasurable experience. I had previously booked with another company and was let down. This company is reliable and professional with some amazing places to stay on offer. I am now looking for my next place to stay. The Kings Arms is a 10 min walk and does lovely food, with a great welcome from both locals and the staff. My only issue with the house is it needs a good clean. By that I mean skirting boards, corners and under furniture, especially the sofas. There was also a couple of dirty items of cutlery in the drawer that I had to clean before using. I used to help my friend prepare her holiday home for guests at changeover and know what to check and where dirt gathers..Would definitely go back though. ##### Lynne G. From a partner site ### 8/10 Good Jul 15, 2024 #### Family Birthday weekend We had a lovely weekend at the cottage and Anna was very accommodating with my request to arrive at the cottage earlier than normal. It was also very nice to receive a welcome hamper when we arrived. We were disappointed with some issues i.e. the cleanliness of a kitchen cupboard, the dustbins outside were full so we had to leave our rubbish on the top of them. There were several broken floor tiles in the ensuite. There were also several dead flies on the window sills. Nov 13, 2024 #### Delightful Cottage in Great Location Woodside Cottage is a gorgeous place to stay and right in the centre of a small village with two great pubs and a Morrison’s local shop within walking distance. The house is very comfortable, stylish and has everything you need for self catering if desired. We really enjoyed playing pool and darts in the converted games room and sitting round the real fire in the evenings. There are also lots of long country walks possible from right outside your front door. We ate twice at the Kings Arms which was best for food and watched some rugby and football games at the Butchers Arms which was a fabulous locals pub. They also sell good basic food which was okay but nothing special. The only downside to Woodside Cottage in our view was the sofa bed in the box room which was very uncomfortable for adults. Therefore larger groups of adults might struggle. Otherwise everything was perfect and Anna the owner was a wonderful host and so kind. ##### Peter R. From a partner site ### 8/10 Good Sep 12, 2024 #### Overgrown Garden Lovely house, lots of amenities within the house. No doors downstairs, which I feel is a fire risk especially with an open fire. Also states no dogs allowed upstairs, difficult without a door to any of the downstairs rooms. Garden very overgrown, patio area dirty, found cigarette butt's under one of the garden chairs. This is the 3rd property we have stayed at via Bolthole retreats and I found this property disappointing. Also, the contact number for the owner is incorrect in all of the bolthole retreat paperwork. The correct number is in the white plastic folder with all of the instructions for the house/appliances. Little shop over the road and a few ace pubs all within walking distance made for a really enjoyable weekend. Nov 12, 2025 #### Perfect stay, perfect location, beautiful cottage. A group of 2 families with 3 children (between ages 1 - 3) stayed at this cottage over a weekend. From our first view of the cottage when we pulled into the drive it was beautiful and very well maintained. The inside was even more perfect, rooms were beautiful and tastefully decorated, kitchen was very well equipped - we couldn’t fault it. Beds were comfortable and great sizes. This cottage was perfect as when the kids were in bed the adults could make use of the games room. The welcome pack of coffee and chocolates was a nice touch. The cottage is perfectly located with a convenience store a short walk away and a pub (food is lovely!). We drove to Bourton on the Water which took about 20/25 minutes so a great location if you want to explore the Cotswolds. I would definitely stay here again. ##### Lauren H.
