We were impressed when we arrived to newly painted wall and decor and our room a superior double seemed spacious - Sadly though there were too many issues . The air conditioning was only blowing out cold all night and would not warmup . The window had been mastic glued shut with the original outer window wide open which made it cold. The inner window had a massive crack in the glass I suspect from someone trying to open it /close it. We were supposed to have a bottle of sparkling wine in each room as part of our Expedia booking - there was none and I messaged the manager on the Expedia app about this and had no reply. The toilets are miles away from their Millar and Carter restaurant - through the bar along a corridor and down two flights of stairs and along another corridor near their fitness centre. Despite the new decoration the inside of each women’s toilet cubicle doors was full of dirty finger marks which appear not to have been cleaned ever. The breakfast was on miller and Carter and very average . It cost over £15 and some of the staff couldn’t speak English enough to tell us how to order a poached egg. Coffee was awful and a cappuccino cost over £4.50. It felt like a cheap old holiday inn ). The service was poor and not what I would expect from a Marriot - this is. It a good pairing . I was told after breakfast that there was an alaxarte menu but firstly it was too late and secondly no one could tell us how to see it and staff were sullen in the restaurant.
