To our surprise we got an upgrade to a Junior Suite. The hotel is also walking distance to a few large shopping mall where we had Chongqing "mala" fried fish dinner at Tan Yu and dessert at Modern China Restaurant. Located in the 3rd ring that's relatively near the airport. Many cab drivers still find place difficult to locate as it is beside a highway intersection. Nothing much in terms of food and shopping around unless you frequent IKEA or Auchan . Need the front desk to call a cab for you , can be difficult to hail one outside the hotel . Great comfortable bed, choice from 5 types of pillows, clean & nice bathroom, etc. Pool is outdoor so closed during winter, but the fitness and billiard rooms were quite nice. The rooms were fantastic - new, spacious and well equipped. We had executive suite rooms for 2 nights and premier rooms for another one night. The hotel is located about 20 min away from the airport and along the 3rd Ring Road near to the southern train station, right next to ikea and a few other shopping centres. It's nicely located for travelling around in taxis but if your main purpose is to visit the city centre then it's not as convenient. For us though this was perfect. Service was great although on our last round we had to request to change our premier room 2 times due to lingering cigarette smell in the room from previous occupants. The hotel is non smoking but some Chinese found it hard to follow rules. In any case our request to change rooms was quickly granted so it was in no way any fault of the hotel. The hotel itself is very modern and clean with excellent amenities. Also, this was booked based on it having a swimming pool. However, no swimming pool was available because the hotel was too new. Hotel not really finished yet so no pool etc. We needed to be in this area so good for us but not much else close by except big shpg malls with overpriced clothes.
