Perhaps you’ve visited a restaurant right near the apartment or enjoyed a cozy meal at the large table in the kitchen-diner. Everything you need is here to enjoy a great breakfast with delicious rolls from the bakery, as well as a full dinner. Work gets done quickly at the convenient desk, and if you have children with you, they’ll love having their own table, games, books, and the play kitchen. The adults enjoy playing cards or exploring the Saxon countryside. Later, you’ll enjoy a restful night’s sleep in super-comfortable beds.

Newly renovated and furnished, the Nutcracker Suite offers a charming atmosphere across 120 square meters. A restful night’s sleep is guaranteed by the double beds (one of which is a box spring bed, each with two mattresses but without that annoying gap in the middle), as well as two single beds and even the sleeper sofa. (All come with mattress toppers.)

Coffee or tea—prepared using a French press, coffee maker, Nespresso machine, or teapot—ensures the perfect start to your day.

The Nutcracker Suite is spacious, so every guest can have their own cozy retreat. Or you can gather comfortably in the living room or around the table in the large kitchen. A warm welcome and a sense of well-being are guaranteed.

We’re right in the heart of the urban Art Nouveau district of the 2025 Capital of Culture, Chemnitz’s Kaßberg. All of the following recommendations are within a few minutes’ walk.

You can start your day with delicious bread, rolls, and other treats from the Pönisch Bakery at Puschkinstraße 15. At Nomad Bakery 37 on Kanzlerstraße 37, you can even watch the baker at work. Be sure to try the delicious Buchtel!

In the morning, it’s worth visiting the Industrial Museum (Zwickauer Str. 119). You’ll be amazed!

Grab a light lunch at Café “Suppkultur” (Barbarossastraße 71)—freshly cooked, picked up right at the counter, and just like a home-cooked meal from Mom.

The “Kaßberg Prison” educational and memorial site (Kaßbergstraße 16) is a must-see and deeply moving.

For dinner, the restaurant “Ronnys” (Hübschmannstraße 13) is a great choice. The “Onkel Franz” diner (Franz-Mehring-Straße 2) is a local institution. You can round out the evening at the wine bar right next door (Franz-Mehring-Straße 10). You simply have to try these Swabian Maultaschen here in Saxony.
