5/5 Excellent

Fairholm was exactly the right match for charming Charlottetown. Like the city itself, Fairholm offered a slice of the past--tangible in the room with period furniture, antique lighting, original fireplace mantel and a wealth of other details that we appreciated (including a clock that looked like it may come to life, straight out of Beauty and the Beast). We met various members of the family that owned and personally ran the hotel; at check in, at breakfast and at different times of the day. They gave us good advice for things to do and restaurants to try during the off season in Prince Edward Island, and we were fortunate to enjoy fantastic weather during our entire trip. With a room upgrade to one of its signature suites, a late check out to accommodate our Green Gables tour, and an endless supply of hot tea and coffee, it was the perfect blend of old world elegance and reliable wifi. We highly recommend the hotel for a romantic break such as ours.
