#### Enjoy a day in nature at this huge park. Walk along the footpaths under the great pine trees and look for wildlife and domestic animals.

Spend some time wandering through the 66-acre (27-hectare) Cervia Natural Park to discover its abundant nature. Appreciate the peace and tranquility as you follow the park’s marked trails.

The park was opened in 1963 with the aim of preserving the local environment. Today this natural treasure on the outskirts of the bustling modern town of Milano Marittima continues to provide a green space for everyone to enjoy. Breathe in the fresh fragrances of the plants, relax, look for wildlife or enjoy a picnic.

Pick one of the 32 trails that weave through the park and greater Pineta di Cervia (Pinewood of Cervia). Explore on foot, by bicycle or even on horseback. Canals connect the salt pans here to the nearby sea, and these can be canoed along for a great family adventure.

Walk under the canopy of pine trees which are well-known in the region and form the largest number of trees. Other trees and plants include holm oaks, hawthorns, wild olives, junipers and honeysuckles. Small orchids grow in the shade from the trees.

Try to spot the different wild and domestic animals which live here. You might see donkeys, fallow deer, horses, goats and Romagna cows as well as ducks, swans, pheasants and peacocks. Find out more about aviculture at a special exhibition showing special breeds of chickens. Resident wild birds include owls, hoopoes, Eurasian wrynecks and flycatchers. Stay until dusk to see the colonies of bats.

Cervia Natural Park is located a short distance from Milano Marittima and there is car parking on site. The park is open between April and November, with longer opening hours during the spring and summer months. Enter the park for free, or pay a small fee so you can enjoy the adjacent Old Farm area too.
