The Haystack House-Cannon Beach Oceanfront Home Steps to Haystack Rock & Midtown

Spectacular ocean front views! You can't get any closer to the beach than this classic ocean front Cannon Beach home. Absolutely the best location in Cannon Beach. Enjoy the rustic charm of this classic home located on the beach in mid town just steps to many of the great Cannon Beach restaurants, shops, and pubs. Short walk to Haystack Rock and downtown Cannon Beach. Original Knotty Pine and Cedar throughout the home. Recent upgrades include refinished hardwood and new tile flooring, new Pottery Barn furniture, new kitchen and bathroom quartz counter tops, new stainless steel appliances with double oven, new windows, new heaters and electrical, and new siding. Generous space with 5 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms. Ocean front and beach front views from most of the rooms in the house. Enjoy storm watching and sunny days while sitting in front of a crackling fire in the river rock fireplace or in the ocean front sun room. Well equipped kitchen with all the amenities you will need. Huge patio overlooking the beach and ocean for enjoying the spectacular views, relaxing in the sun, barbecues , or people watching. Please note that the master bathroom has a bathtub only with a shower wand for rinsing off and does not have a full stand up shower. It's a little rough around the edges but you won't find a more charming, comfortable, and spacious family home anywhere in Cannon Beach. What a great location! It was a stormy weekend and we loved the view of the ocean and Haystack Rock. The house was great for a group and super cozy.

Property is a bit worn,as many people have written,but as they have also written, it’s a wonderful place to stay. Fantastic location, well maintained, and an incredible view (ocean is literally a couple hundred feet away from the house at high tide). A perfect place for a large family gathering or ?. Highly recommend it!

We absolutely love this place! You can’t find a place like this right on the beach like this. The house is older but that doesn’t bother us because we are right on the beach. They also allow dogs and we are so thankful to bring out doggie family members with us. The upstairs shower is a little bit of a drawback because I have to bend over to fit and my husband has to take a shower in his knees because it is so short. I am only 5’2. We have kids and it is so nice to not have to lug everything to the beach and the kids can just run out to the beach and we can even just sit on the porch. The kitchen has everything we need. :) we had 8 people in the house this time and it works perfectly, we didn’t even use one room.

This rustic property sits in a truly dreamy location that overlooks Haystack rock and Cannon Beach. The property had more than enough space and amenities to accommodate our group of 6 adults and an 1.5 year old. Like a lot of properties on the Oregon coast, it is on the older side - but everything functioned well and the decor is charming. Would definitely stay again!

House was awesome. We had a great time. The only thing i wish i had realised before i chose my room was, the upstairs shower is super short. I am over 6 feet and it quickly became a family joke. We are so greatful that we were allowed to lease this property and we hope to again.

The location & view of the Haystack is top notch! The neighbors are nosey and I annoying because she stands, staring, hands on hips, waiting for you to do something she doesn’t approve of - uncomfortable!The upstairs bathroom is unusable as a shower - bath only and broken hand held shower head mount. Hot showers need to be spread out to enjoy it hot.Light bulbs out in the hall. Needs a remodel update!Beds are just OK.

We had such a great time at this beach house! The home was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The location was perfect, and we loved how spacious and welcoming it felt. The host was also responsive and helpful throughout our stay. Highly recommend - would stay here again!

Haystack House has older wood finishes but well described as such by the owners. You can't beat being in town and the views of Haystack are picturesque. Our party was only 2 but a larger family would be very happy here. Booking Haystack House will be part of our future plans to the Oregon Coast.

Sleeping at heaven

It is perfectly located. My dad is 88 and walking on the beach is no longer an option for him, but to be able to sit in the sunroom that overlooks the beach was perfect for him. It's a warm and cozy home with plenty of space for a large family. The kitchen was well stocked; just bring your food.Would be a great location if you had littles as well. The access to the beach being straight out the door

Beautiful spot....that's about all I can say.

Beachfront property! Too bad that the windows were so filthy that you couldn't see out...really. The place was very dirty. The place was very large and cut up into many spaces with light switches that were turning on lights in odd places. Too bad..it has alot of potential.

Plenty of room for a big group. Wisconsin relatives awed by the superb views. As close to the bea.ch as you can get. Beautiful kitchen very well stocked.

Location is the key but don’t expect fancy

The location is just amazing! It’s quirky house with enough beds for a total of 14. It is not clean (stains on carpets and towels, and dirty couches with smelly throw pillows), and could use some general TLC. It smells VERY musty which seems like a bit of a health risk. Thankfully, the weather allowed for us to have windows and doors open most of the time. There was also a broken fan in the kitchen and broken smoke alarm in hallway. The fridge was clean and there is a full size washer and dryer and utility sink in laundry room. There is also conflicting info on signs and directions on property compared with instructions received online. Positives are lots of games, and well equipped with dishes and a big table for meals. King bed and bathroom plus a single bed upstairs. All other bedrooms and two bathrroms on main floor. One block walk to Sleepy monk coffee and only slightly farther to Macgregor’s whiskey bar. I would give a higher rating if it hadn’t been moldy.
