When booking a stay at the Bears Lair, you get access to 2 free passes to the Waterville Valley Estates Community Center. Here you can enjoy outdoor/indoor pools and hot tubs as well as many other amenities such as a gym, arcade, bar, restaurant and more. Within the Estates is also a three trail ski mountain that offers night skiing and sledding. Campton mountain is a short drive or walk from the property. The Bears Lair provides many home essentials to make your stay more enjoyable. The house is spacious and cozy and gives you that true log cabin vibe. 10 minutes from Waterville Valley ski resort, 25 minutes to Loon Mountain, 30 minutes to Cannon Mountain. The double bed in the basement was uncomfortable for two people. Some tilting of the mattress due to poor construction. The cabin could use more lighting (some strategically placed lamps.) Its 15 minutes away from Waterville so its perfect for any activities. There is a rec center up the road - 5 minutes if you wanted the hot tub/pool to relax in after a full day. Its cute! Country Store is 5 minutes away and has just about everything you could ask for. its quite a gem in the area!A couple of things to be aware: There is a fireplace, but the tools for the fire make it a bit difficult to work with. Firewood is available at the Country store - but its not covered and is wet. Its also available at the gas station near the liquor store off the exit - get it there as it is much drier.The couch pillows are a bit old and need replacing. Everything was clean and comfortable, making it an easy transition with a family. The passes to the community center kept the kids entertained even when it was raining. The kitchen was well appointed, the back deck was large and being able to walk out to the firepit at night was a treat. Host was very easy to communicate with and the area was fantastic; a quick trip to multiple hikes in the White Mountains, Plymouth, Woodstock, Thornton...a very enjoyable experience. ##### Chiara R.
