California State Mining and Mineral Museum Tours and Activities

I normal don’t stay at “budget” hotels, so I knew what to expect. I had to be in town for a family thing and was not going to leave a review… HOWEVER Bro called me and accused me of stealing an iron lol This was the cheapest hotel in the area. Super convenient to stores and free parking. This hotel had stains on the doors. The floors were DIRTY. Do not walk barefoot. The shower and tub have dirt stains. The walls are paper thin. One of the walls looked like it had major water damage. Honestly, I knew what I paid for so I wasn’t going to complain. But I was disturbed at work today (Monday, checked out yesterday) to be accused of stealing an iron that was never in the room. We didn’t complain to the front desk because we didn’t desperately need the iron. Also, there wasn’t a phone to easily call the front desk so we would have had to walk to the front desk, and they didn’t seem to be working at 6/7am when we woke up. I also don’t think they work super late so make sure you get there or call ahead if you plan to arrive late.

The property was lovely with well maintained gardens. My room in the Cypress building was in great need of refurbishing: worn paint and plaster and decor was out of date. Floors were great. The non-slip mat in for the tub was stained with mold and the shower head was rusted and dirty looking. Nice bed and linens. My room was quiet. Staff was very pleasant and helpful.

Rooms are dated but very clean. We stayed here for the facilities proximity to the airport and would do it again. They allow you to leave your car for the period of your round trip flight for a small fee of $10/day. Almost 1/2 the airport parking fee. The restaurant was closed. I don’t think they had an operator for it. We didn’t visit the bar. The facility is safe however we didn’t see a few non-threatening friendly unhoused individuals on the perimeter of the property amongst some trees but none on the property. This is a hotel and all the rooms open to a secure hallway but they do have a sliding glass door opening to a courtyard. The slider is equipped with the appropriate locks for a sliding glass door. Upon return we were able to retrieve our vehicle without any hassle. It was in the same condition as we left it in. I will stay here again except again when I have to fly out of the Fresno-Yosemite Airport.
