It's the perfect location for exploring unspoilt north Cornwall & Devon, with beaches and the south-west coast path within easy reach; you need a car to get around. Soak in the peace and quiet of the Barn with its home comforts, and enjoy the luxurious king size bed. During the colder months the heating is kept on all day. Make the most of your break using our customised information on local walks, and places to visit. The photos give an idea of the places you can visit within an hour's drive. Please note that the Barn is not suitable for babies, infants or children. \*\*Housing crisis in the South West: the Barn only has planning consent as holiday accommodation so by booking it you are not preventing a local family from having a home to rent \*\* Although we’re no longer a working farm you can often see a local farmer’s attractive Stabiliser cattle grazing in our organic field, and we keep 4 chickens. Depending on the time of year you might see geese or ducks rearing their young on our wildlife pond, long-eared bats catching insects at dusk, or our resident hedgehog late at night. We provide a bird guide to help you identify birds on the birdfeeders, including the Great Spotted Woodpecker, goldfinch, tits and chaffinches. Our black and white rescue cat, Bubble, keeps a watchful eye over the whole farm. We welcome one well-behaved, adult, dog. There's a lovely private sunny seating area in front of the Barn; we ask dog owners to keep their dog on a lead because the area isn't fully enclosed. The area is very dog friendly, and you may find shopkeepers offering your pet a treat with every visit! Most pubs and restaurants welcome dogs and nearby Sandymouth beach allows dogs all year round. We have one other holiday apartment for couples in our courtyard, which is entirely separate from the Barn. The rest of our courtyard is used for storage. We stayed just three nights but was perfectly located for long walks along the beach with the dog, which he loved! The hosts were amazing and Rikey gave us lots of ideas of where to go during the day and where to eat if we wanted! They live behind the property but were not invasive at all! The barn is home from home everything you need for a pleasant stay. Bude was such a lovely little town to visit about a 20min drive from the barn so you do need a car if you stay here as there isnt a pub or shop in walking distance, if you are looking for a cosy retreat to recharge your batteries this is definitely the place to stay would well recommend it, would definitely visit again. ##### Georgie S. Riki is the best host we’ve ever stayed with, she was always in hand if needed and kitted the place out for everything you could possibly need for your stay. The location is remote and perfect to wind down and relax. We ventured out daily with Bude and Sandymouth Beach only 15minutes away (great for the dog). It is in a quiet location but very close to the spectacular coastal sights and the coastal path in North Cornwall and North Devon. There are also several walking loops right from the residence around the nearby countryside. It is an excellent spot for birdwatching and relaxing. It is also within a 60-90 minute drive from Tintagel, Dartmoor National Park, and Exeter, in case you wish to venture further. But you will not run out of things to do nearby. Riki was a superb host, providing a wealth of information on nearby sites and communicating promptly. The barn cottage is immaculate and well-appointed. I cannot think of anything I would change about the facility or its environment. We would stay there again at the first opportunity and will recommend it to friends. ##### Terrie A. Communication was excellent with Riki and we were made to feel welcome from the start. Upon arrival, Riki greeted us and showed us around the barn where to find everything. It was equipped with everything we needed and more. We had a lovely welcome pack including biscuits, local honey, organic apple juice and milk. All were good quality products. The barn is next to the farm house, however you do have privacy and a lovely seating area outside. There are also extra garden chairs available. The bed is super comfy and we slept very well every night. The bathroom was lovely with a good shower. It was a great base to explore other areas with Bude beach approximately 20 minutes away. There is lots of information for local and beyond areas. We had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend staying here. ##### Erica C. Riki is a great host, the barn is lovingly and cosily decorated, very clean and you will find everything you need. The bed is very comfortable and the bathroom has a modern shower and towel warmer.There is everything from a washing machine, dryer and ironing board. There is a seat in front of the door from where you can watch the birds at the feeding station. Riki has a lot of information ready in a folder and is also personally available for any question and a nice conversation. We also had very nice e-mail contact with her before our trip. I would come back anytime to stay here. For us it was one of the most beautiful places we have been to, the nature is wonderful and the people are very friendly. Driving was a bit of a challenge, but manageable due to the considerate way of driving in Cornwall. There are so many beautiful places in the vicinity, and Riki's map is a good help to find everything. We would have liked to stay longer as there was so much to discover and we felt very comfortable and welcome. Thank you Riki and Martin for a lovely stay with you. ##### Gabriele S. The Barn has everything you would need and the hosts are very welcoming and helpful with suggestions of things to do and see.
