About this property
Olympic Peninsula, from Coast to Forest, Scenic Hiking, Kayaking, Fishing, GEM.
Relax in the most romantic places on the Emerald Northwest. Endless views, a large sweeping deck that overhangs the tidelands with a dock down to the water, watch otters play, seals, and eagles just about in every direction. Views of Mt Rainier to the southeast and the tip of Mt Baker to the northeast. Just does not get any better than this.
This is the exact location where the Dosewallips River feeds the saltwater ocean ( they say - when fresh water rivers feed salt water oceans - life is most abundant). Sit back and listen to the sound of the rivers greeting the sea's tides. A Magical place in paradise where you can explore many nearby State Parks, Kayaking, Canoeing, hiking, yoga in the yard or on one of the three tiered decks, water sunrises, some of the most amazing moons, or take a walk during low tides.
Sit back on the deck or inside to be greeted by a fantastic sunrise. Enjoy four Kayaks when the waters on the Hood Canal reach high tide and are calm. Life preservers in different sizes are provided in the shed on our dock. Take a hike outside your door to some of the most romantic, magical walks in the Pacific Northwest. Dosewallips State Park is within walking distance of the house. This house has one of the most expansive peninsula and waterfront views.
If you are a family or just a couple in need of a getaway, then this is the perfect place to relax.
Eat fresh Oysters or clams just a few miles away while listening to live music on weekends at the Hama Hama Saloon. Walk to the local Geoduck tavern, or simply stay put and enjoy a million-dollar view with everything this home has to offer all around you. Life does not get any better.
This is the eastern access to all these amazing natural places, abundant with amazing scenery, all levels of hiking trails that can lead you through the entire Park for a week of trekking, or a short round-trip with a picnic. Falls View Park and waterfall, Mount Walker viewpoint and many other wonderful scenic outings all within a few minutes' drive.
Windows in every direction, and an expansive deck that hangs over the water for big views. This homes yard has one of the longest shoreline views and its proximity to the water is unbeatable. Big space to enjoy a family of 6 -8 comfortably. Olympic national forest is near your doorstep. Home to Otters, seals, Elk, Osprey, Kingfish and Bald eagles.
Small-town charm is nearby and is the gateway to deep-water marinas, three major rivers, clam and oyster beaches, excellent bird and wildlife viewing, a 120-foot waterfall, Mount Walker, or a drive if you do not want to hike to the top. Enjoy Pleasant Harbor to watch the sailboats just a mile away. Or just stay on the deck and enjoy the most amazing views on the Peninsula.
There are two Visitor Centers with detailed maps and up-to-date information about the Olympic National Forest and Olympic National Park

A lively view of wildlife complete with binoculars
A wonderful opportunity to stay put and watch the tides and wildlife change in front of you
The house is wonderful with all the details I love when away from home.
The host was easy to reach, responding quickly to messages when needed.
The area offers a multitude of recreational activities if you can tear yourself away from the deck
Rare Gem on the Hood Canal has a spectacular view of the water from the house and from the expansive deck. The deck is in need of some loving attention, but it is welcoming with umbrellas and comfy chairs. The kitchen is well appointed. Beds are very comfortable. The kayaking is splendid, and swimming at nearby river a treat. Owners are warm and helpful in all communications.
What a fantastic week we had, exploring Brinnon and surrounding area. This is a must do for anyone exploring The Olympic Peninsula. VRBO property much more than we anticipated, a wonderful place, to hang out, enough room for our family. The view was beautiful! The view from the Master bedroom breath-taking. A big shout out to our hosts Mary and Tom for their attention to detail in creating an environment that is warm and welcoming. Roy and Denise
The house is wonderful. Very spacious, filled with light, comfortable beds, and a large deck with a view of the mouth of the Dosewallips River. Without leaving the deck I watched a huge run of pink salmon approach the mouth of he river, only to be intercepted by over 60 seals, several bald eagles, and even a coyote. The changing landscape from low to high tide brought different creatures and their interactions, including elk, vultures and kingfishers. It was mesmerizing. A short walk to the riverbank offered a chance to see the salmon fight their way up the rapids. Having such a comfortable high -class residence with Nature in such close proximity was my idea of bliss.
Where to begin? I have nothing to say but good. We ended up renting the whole house which was perfect for 2couples. Tom and Mary were so easy to deal with and we kept in contact showing them some of our pictures. They gave us great food recommendations. If you are there in the summer on Fri, Sat or Sun, DONOT MISS Hamma Hamma about 16 miles south of the house for lunch 11:30-5:00. It is an experience and one we enjoyed twice. Our favorite place to sit was on the fabulous deck with fire pit. We arrived around 4 o’clock for our week stay and the tide was completely in, and we thought nothing of it. When we woke up the next morning, we were all surprised to see that the tide was out.300’ and we had four bald eagles sitting out on the mud flats with a numerous amount of seagulls and seals. It was a spectacular morning view. Although we traveled up and down highway 101, our favorite spot was coming home and sitting on the deck with a glass of wine or two.. We ate one day at Geoduck about 150 feet from the house. We sat out on Geoduck’s deck and we got to see where the seals hung out when they wanted to rest. Nice deck, but it couldn’t compete with our deck.i don’t want to alarm anyone, but the sweetest racoon visited us from time to time. He was most polite. One of our favorite places to sit was half-way down to the dock where 2 high Adirondacks chairs. Great views of Bald Eagles, seals following small boats looking for a snack. Would definitely recommend this house
My son and I spent 8 wonderful nights to celebrate his college graduation. It was a dream trip. Perfect for relaxing, hiking options galore nearby. It was a welcome reprieve from our hot and crowded home state and I can’t wait to go back. Tom was terrific at responding to any questions. We have rented many homes and this one was so well stocked with all necessities!

Excellent, can’t go wrong.
Fully stocked, clean and comfortable. The yard and views are incredible. A great way to enjoy Hood Canal.
We had such a wonderful getaway. The property is beautiful, the views outstanding. The home is very comfortable and the kitchen was great to cook in. Equipped with everything you need. We will definitely stay again if available for our next outing.
The house has an amazing view. Good location near close to trails and views in Olympic state park. We hiked, had dinner at local restaurants recommended by host-Geoducks and Hama Hama oyster saloon. Kayaking with provided kayaks was fun. Beds were clean and comfortable.
Tom and Mary were the most gracious hosts for my birthday weekend. My family enjoyed constant eagle sightings, elk, otters, and all of the wonderful flowers blooming. The house was perfect, with an ideal open layout that worked well for us. We will be back for sure!
Amazing wildlife and views from the deck. The house and studio combination was great for my family of four plus an additional couple. Beware that there are not many curtains on the windows and the upstairs bedroom in the main house is in an open loft so if you like to sleep in, bring an eye mask and earplugs!
The property was spotless upon arrival and had everything we needed. Very comfortable accomodations and layout for two couples. Checking in and out was a breeze.
We loved the beautiful views and wildlife, seeing seals, otters, an elk herd and bald eagles just off the deck every day. The property was well maintained and seemed very private and secluded.
Having kayaks and a canoe available was a definite plus.
Overall it was a wonderful place to stay.
We had a great time. Kayaks were so much fun to have. Well stocked kitchen. We used the mother in law cottage for teens. They loved having their own space. Communication with Tom, the owner, was easy and he responded quickly. We’ll definitely be back
A fantastic place to stay at. The view over the Hood Canal is amazing. The wildlife is unbeatable. Eagles galor, elk & seals oh my. Tom and Mary are extremely good to work with. The communications between us and them could not have been better. Very responsive to our every inquiry. Equal to the best experience we have had and we have had many.
Let’s see, how can I summarize this property ... a great house, spectacular view, excellent kayaking, abundant wildlife, and expert hosting by people who really know what they’re doing. I hope they’re not planning on having much time there themselves as this one’s going to be heavily rented year-round!

Family weekend at the Hood Canal!!!
Before we got to the house we stopped at HAMA HAMA for a bushel of oysters and were able to dig clams on the north side of Dosewallips. Lots of fresh seafood!! Beautiful house with great views. Huge deck for enjoying time outdoors. Large sunroom for kids room or family pets. Good access to beach!! The two bedrooms are spacious and very comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay. A hot tub would be a awesome addition to this property!!!
