Quiet Brighton Getaway
Paquette’s Lakehouse is a picturesque 600 square foot cottage located on Briggs Lake. Relax and take in the view on your own private deck overlooking the 75 acre lake with 120 feet of lake frontage.
Looking for the perfect place to really kick back and relax? Well then… picture yourself on a nice private lake; lounging on a wooden deck, perched high above it all as you soak in the beauty. Thirsty..? A well-stocked party store is just around the corner with a huge selection of beer, wine & spirits. They also offer a hot food deli during the day and early evening. But let’s say you’re hungry for something more. While there are certainly many fine dining establishments and drive-thru restaurants within only 3 miles, you may prefer to drive only one mile to the nearby grocery store. There, you can purchase a few thick juicy steaks or whatever your heart desires to toss on the grill. If you like to float or splash around in the water… you’ll have your very own paddle boat (provided at no additional cost).
Briggs Lake is a no gasoline motor lake. Only electric trolling motors are permitted and what does this mean to you? Peace and tranquility...
Paquette’s Lakehouse is a great destination for bass fishermen. Anglers can fish right off the dock or enjoy a quarter-mile hike to Island Lake recreation area and fish Island Lake. Island lake recreation area is a 4000-acre park that offers an “up north” experience without leaving southeast Michigan.
Paquette’s Lakehouse has many things to offer year round. Enjoy the eye-popping color changes that take place in the fall. Try your hand at cross-country skiing on the lake during the winter and or, ride on nearby mountain bike trails all year. You’ll be conveniently close to golf courses, restaurants, shopping and antiquing. During your stay, you may discover many events to attend; including summer concerts, sidewalk sales, holiday parades, farmers markets, art fairs and Brighton’s Smokin’ Jazz & Barbecue Blues Festival. That’s right folks, at Paquette’s Lakehouse you’ll be able to relax and enjoy everything we’ve just described including the fishing, swimming, hiking, boating and paddle boarding all summer long!
We look forward to sharing our slice of paradise with you!

We stayed for 25 nights while our house was being renovated in September/October. We loved having our coffee on the deck each morning looking at all the fish in the clear lake and being visited by the ducks and swans. We walked in Island Lake State Park every day. Maurice and Shannon were the perfect hosts. We truly enjoyed our stay!
We had a wonderful stay at the cottage. Maurice the host, made it special with Christmas lights and even a tiny decorated tree! This location worked well for us as we were visiting family in the area. We hope to book again if the opportunity arises! 😁
Three moms came together for a weekend of outside beauty, walking trails, sitting by the lake and enjoying conversation over cocktails. This cabin was a great fit for all of the above and only 8 mins away from downtown Brighton where we planned massages, foot detox, and dinners that we didn’t have to make!
The property is right on water and has great views over the lake.
The place a clean and met our expectations as is as described in the listing.
Would stay here again, if visiting Brighton.

We have stayed twice and plan to come back. Lovely lake house on a nice peaceful lake. Lovely home and lot. Nice to have a fire pit and boats to use. We r from the area-way back when ;) and its like stepping pack into a great childhood. Thank you!
This little cottage is very cute, cozy and clean! We enjoyed the gas fireplace and the view was beautiful. It was perfect for the two nights that we stayed. The owner was very communicative and easy to work with. I would recommend upgrading to keyless entry.
We were in town for a family wedding, and this property was a helpful escape from the madness. It had everything we needed to use it as a base camp for our activities. Despite the dreary weather, the heat was perfect. Important to note that you can hear through the walls quite easily (only of note because half our party came in very late after the others had gone to sleep). The outdoor area with porch and dock are quite charming. A lovely place 3
Extended stay to visit family and friends. Perfect!
Quiet stay on the lake. Truly tranquil, peaceful cottage with perfect accommodations. If you’re looking for luxury accommodations, this is not your cottage. We were so happy here for our 6 week stay. Coffee in the morning watching the swans with bonfires in the evening. What’s not to love. Very close to shopping, walking trails and excellent downtown restaurants. The Cozy Inn Bar is within walking distance. You’ll love it!
Maurice was wonderful from the minute he reached out to share check in procedures and to welcome us. When we arrived, check-in was seemless, fresh linens were on the beds and we were greeted with the most clean we have seen or smelled in our guest stays. The beds were comfortable, the view spectacular and the sundries we may have forgotten. This location is a great oasis right on the lake and we don't hesitate to recommend! Thank you Maurice and family!
The views from this place are amazing. Very quaint, with everything you need. Working gas fireplace was a nice addition on the cooler nights. Woke up to swans at the end of the dock which my daughter absolutely loved. Host was very helpful when we left something behind, even mailed it home to us. Thank you. 5 stars.
We stayed here for my brother's wedding. It turned out my dad was actively dying, so we came to MI sooner than planned. Maurice was very communicative, compassionate, and kind enough to work it out so we could stay there earlier than we had booked.
This place, which Maurice calls a “cottage” is beautiful. I say it’s not a cottage! You can tell it is loved, it has many cute details and is complete with this wonderous deck. It is a peaceful, serene getaway, yet close to many amenities and the highway.
I bet in the summertime it is amazing. It was too cold to use the paddleboat, SUP and canoe but how nice they are available for guests.
Book this place! You won’t regret it!
We had a wonderful weekend at the cottage! The space was perfect for our family of 4, and we loved spending time in the open kitchen/living room area and deck. The view is beautiful! Maurice was a great host and the cottage was clean and stocked with all we needed.
We really enjoyed our time the cabin. Will definitely return! Few things that stood out: Salt for ice was easy to find by the stairs. I salted the stairs the night before a freeze, grateful around the thoughtfulness. Comfortable beds & pillows Well stocked kitchen, despite not having an oven. We brought our toaster oven/airfryer. But upon further discovery, the cabin does have a toaster oven. Very cozy cabin, with a great view!
