Beautiful property in wonderful surroundings, cozy and really well equipped. Julie and Paul are lovely hosts.
Spacious, bright and well equipped this property offers excellent value for money. A bonus is the beautiful garden and the country walks available nearby.
We would highly recommend this stay here. Situated in the idyllic Scottish boarders, lovely walks and local village with a playground and pub. The grounds are beautiful and has a lovely outdoor seating area for warmer days. House is cozy, well equipped kitchen and lots of games - large living room. Beds are very comfortable. Hosts are delightful - will be back!!
We had a wonderful stay in this cottage, it was presented immaculately and was set in beautiful gardens. We enjoyed walks in and around the village. There was lots of wildlife to enjoy too. Would highly recommend this property for a break in the scottish borders.
We absolutely loved our stay at the garden cottage!
Our lovely hosts were so welcoming and helpful it was very nice to get to know them..
The cottage exceeded our expectations and the beautiful gardens were an absolute treat at this time of year!
Had a super little restful break at this lovely house. Super comfy bed and gorgeous decoration throughout. 3 nights not long enough! Very friendly pleasant hosts.
The Stables was very well equipes, clean and tidy. Had we been at a warmer time of year, we would have made more use of the gardens.
Great location for walking.
Would recommend to anyone wanting to get away for a few days
Stunning location and lovely comfy property. Owners very welcoming. Some lovely walks right from the front door. Lots of wildlife and we were lucky to get the northern lights while we were there. Would love to return some day, and would highly recommend to anyone wanting to get away from it all,
Peaceful and beautiful! Fall asleep to the sound of the river. The kitchen is well-equipped and functional, and the lounge gave us plenty of room to spread out. We had access to a beautiful private garden as well. Note that there are very few services in Canonbie-the closest grocery stores are in Gretna.
Excellent holiday cottage. Well equipped and cleaned. Julie, the manager (and Paul) were friendly and helpful.
Perfect size for a family of 4 to stay and enjoy the area.
Would stay again
We loved our stay at Stable Cottage. It was spotlessly clean and was well equipped. The welcome card and milk in the fridge was a nice surprise and we met Julue who was very helpful and informative. Would highly recommend.
The cottage is amazing and Julie is lovely. I stayed here while working in the area and will make this my first choice when looking for accommodation in the same area in the future. I think this might just be the best place I've stayed with work. Cant fault Julie, the cottage or the area at all.
Large, clean and very well equipped property in a quiet rural area. Plenty of walks on the doorstep to suit all abilities. Lots of wildlife including nesting and roosting birds next to property.Plenty of pubs and restaurants within easy driving distance, also a Fish & Chip van which visits the village on a Friday evening (need to pre order and book collection time).Owners met us on arrival and were very friendly and helpful, we would definitely stay here again.
This place is heaven on earth. Absolutely stunning grounds and the cottage is gorgeous! Immaculate! Paul and Julie welcomed us on arrival and were so informative. Hillary went out of her way to take us to get groceries as we were without acar. Loved them all! We can't say enough good about these folks. Would definitely stay there again!
We really enjoyed our stay here. The cottage was lovely and welcoming, tastefully decorated and well equipped. The owners are obviously keen gardeners, so the view from the window was beautiful.
There was a good choice of places to visit Abbotsford House, Threave House and gardens, to name but two. The weather was good for us, it usually isn’t, so that was definitely a bonus.
We would recommend this area and property to anyone who doesn’t want to take the long drive to the Highlands.
Couldn’t wish for a lovelier home from home to stay in
This home is absolutely lovely. It’s airy and spacious and has everything you need for a holiday home. The welcome information was perfect and even some lovely treats, and milk in the fridge. The beds were comfortable and the cleanliness top notch. The home has an amazing garden to wander around and the location is perfect for Hadrian’s wall and various Roman fort and villa sites. Also it’s a stones throw from Gretna Green. Of course Carlisle is only a short drive away with its museum and Castle. Julie welcomed us personally. Lovely to meet you Julie and thank you for making our stay so enjoyable.
