A lovely old homestead surrounded by welcoming lawn and gardens. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was spacious & charmingly rustic. It suited the needs of our extended family of 7 adults & 4 children. Our only disappointment was a few basic items that were missing .. there was no salt & pepper, cooking oil & an inadequate supply of toilet paper for the length of stay we’d booked for 11 people. These small but essential items would have been greatly appreciated. We experienced some very warm weather which was lovely however there was no air conditioning for the upstairs bedrooms & no fans. This made it difficult to sleep. A fan in each bedroom would have easily solved this problem. There was also no top sheet on the beds which meant either sleeping with no covering or a heavy doona. These are all small things & easily addressed. For the quality of the house & grounds, I feel these basic things would be expected. Despite these small inconveniences we had a delightful holiday in a charming house. We would highly recommend to other groups.
The property is beautiful inside and out. Very clean and exactly what is in the listing. Would highly recommend this property for anyone who is looking for a place to stay in a relaxing area.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here with family and friends over Xmas. The gardens are lovely and we sat out under a tree and enjoyed the views and serenity. Plenty of beds, 2 bathrooms, 3 toilets. If you want a country feeling holiday, this is perfect. Launceston is only 25 minutes away and Longford even closer.
This is an awesome property. We loved relaxing on the plush lawn whilst looking at the sheep roaming around. The kitchen is well stocked with all appliances needed. Would definitely be back and stay for at least three nights.
The Homestead was just perfect for our stay while attending a day time wedding function. Our Family ranging in Ages from 80 to 18 found the space perfect with some rooms further away for quiet and privacy and then the multiple bed space upstairs was great for the younger members. Property Managers were extremely helpful and approachable. Highly recommend staying here. Beautiful grounds
After squashed in caravan park cabins the night before, we were all excited when we stepped into this big farm house. It was clean and tidy with everything we needed. Plenty of space inside and outside of the house for the young and old to enjoy a nice stay.
What an amazing property ! I was fortunate enough to hold my fathers 50th at Clayfield Homestead and I honestly couldn't of picked a better venue. The homestead was immaculate when we arrived, beautiful scenery, plenty of bedding for everyone, had plenty of space for the kids to run around and we had an amazing host.
Angela was great to deal with and a huge help! She was more than happy to cater for anything we required for the party and was always very quick to get back to me if I had any questions.
Thanks again Angela, we had a great time ! Hope to stay again sometime soon :)
Fantastic large homestead with great gardens. Plenty of room for all of us to move around with plenty of parking & only 20 minutes from Launceston. We couldn't ask for more.
The Clayfield Homestead is a huge house which can easily fit a big family of 10, like ours very comfortably. It is set a bit far away from the city centre of Launceston but that is its beauty. It gives you a new experience of being part of a working farm and residing on its edges. The house has been tastefully restored by the owners Angela and Malcolm. There are 2 bedrooms downstairs both with huge beds and lots of open space. Then there is a loft bedroom with a double bed and a dormitory style of sleeping which has a further 8 beds. The house is clean, tidy and well maintained. The rose garden outside and the lawn provides you with a very tranquil atmosphere. The fully equipped kitchen is very helpful when you have to cater for a big happy, hungry family. Having three toilets and 2 bathroom also is a benefit. Being a home away from home the owners also provide you with a washing machine and dryer. As it is a working farm, one can see cattle and sheep just outside ones door, in a very well fenced off area. This also adds to the excitement of being away from the city. My children really enjoyed this aspect of the farm. The owners Angela and Malcolm are there to help and advice you. The nearest supermarket was in Longford which is a mere 10 -15mins car ride away.
One however needs to be prepared for living on farm in terms of insects and animals. Also the road leading to this property is a gravel road which is a big bumpy in the car.
My family of ten which included 2 grandpas (both over 80 ), and overseas guest, really enjoyed our stay .
We wish to thank Angela and her family for letting us use this beautiful home . Both of them are very response and extremely helpful to make our stay a very comfortable one.
Angela was so lovely and accomodating to us. The House is absolutely amazing! The beds were comfortable, the facilities immaculate and the setting picturesque! We spent the weekend playing board games in front of the fire and playing soccer on the lawn - the perfect family getaway! Thank you Angela, we will definitely be back!

Absolutely Stunning Accommodation & views
Myself & 3 friends wanted to stay somewhere special for a girls weekend away & birthday celebration. Clayfield House did not disappoint! It's just beautiful and in a magnificent setting. The owners left a surprise for our birthday girl which was a lovely gesture.
Plenty of bedrooms, comfortable beds & 2 big bathrooms, we couldn't have had a better setup. Looking forward to returning with our husbands but we really didn't want to leave. Thank you
