"The owner was was very kind, friendly, and accommodating and had a cute gift shop. She also made a wonderful breakfast that started out with a baked apple! The yard and house were decorated very nicely for the holidays, complete with music to add to the ambiance. The room had everything we needed and included an amazing copper bath tub that was wonderful to soak in. Overall it was a great place to sleep and relax with much more character than a hotel room could ever have. "

"Nice cabin, large master bedroom! Super clean. Spent a lot of time in the screen porch, enjoyed the deck and fire ring as well. Very dog friendly. Saw swans and blue heron in the lake. Quick drive to Hayward to explore and use a great public beach. "
"Great stay just feet from the lake. Our cottage had the wonderful feel of what you’d expect staying in northern Wisconsin. Our hosts were most attentive to any needs that might arise. Eagles flew right over, loons treating us to their songs, very quiet setting. Kayaked around Durphee Lake and into the neighboring Schoolhouse Lake. Other lakes close by. Area is great if you like to walk. Convenient 10 minute ride to Hayward with a great northwoods vibe. Beautiful summer sunrises from our cottage if you get up early."

"Had a wonderful time on Sand Lake! I was initially disappointed that the lake access was across the road, but it was fine. The grandkids know never to cross a road without an adult, so it was a perfect barrier to the lake for them. The sand and shallow water went on forever and they absolutely loved being able to jump off the dock all the way to the end. We didn't have to worry about them taking the floaties too far out and they loved trying to catch minnows. The configuration of the house was perfect for 4 adults and 2 kids. We had everything we needed. Enjoyed our stay very much and would highly recommend it."

"I will start with the obligatory "I don't do reviews". I'll make the exception for this place. This is a top notch Northern Wisconsin destination. The images on the site do not do it justice. The lot is as good as it gets in this part of the world. Lake level, sandy shore two docks and 500' of shoreline. The cabin is a bit dated and appliances are not Wolf/Subzero but oh well. Bedrooms are comfortable and it was very clean upon check in. View of lake from the cabin and screened in porch unrivaled. I would rebook without hesitation and we are annoyingly discerning customers. My family was blown away with this place. If I could live there from May to October I would. "
