"We arrived late but Peter was there to meet us. The Iguana Roost was a great little place to stay. We enjoyed searching the property for the more than 40 fruit bearing plants. Thanks for the map! We are from Alaska so the sounds of the environment were very new to us, but waking up at 5am, not because the sun is still up or the sun never comes up, it was home. "The ranch is a great place to meet all kinds of people. Bob the manager of the location is helpful, kind, and makes everyone feel as if it is their home. Could use a couple of burn borrows so trash can be burned. That would help keep the grounds cleaner. Kitchen needs a stove with an oven so people can cook their meals. "I had a very relaxing stay at the well-appointed lodging. The newly installed pool was a pleasant and welcomed surprise, especially since it wasn't listed at the time of booking. Upon arrival, guests are greeted and escorted to their rooms. The onsite restaurant and staff were wonderful, and despite the current expansion happening on the grounds, we had an enjoyable and relaxing stay. The eco-friendly toiletries provided were a nice touch. Conveniently located next to the Cahal Pech Archaeological Reserve, which we were able to see from our room, is a nice stop, as the other sights are hours drive away. There are a few restaurants located within walking distance from the residence. However, please note that the walk down several steep streets to the downtown area is not easy, especially in the heat. It takes about 20 minutes, and requires a climb back up to the residence, so it's not suitable for everyone. If you prefer, you can take a cab from the welcome center to the downtown area for around $10 BZE.There are a few restaurants located within walking distance from the residence. However, please note that the walk down several steep streets to the downtown area is not easy, especially in the heat. It takes about 20 minutes, and requires a climb back up to the residence, so it's not suitable for everyone.
