A boater's paradise and well kept secret among seasoned travelers and avid boaters. Anglers love to get to the fishin' hole quickly in the NO no wake zone hundred mile long navigable river. Speed boaters zoom by in the no speed limit smooth glassy waters where you will scarcely hit the wake of another boater. Away from the coastal beach crowds the river is a welcome refreshment in the summer heat. Fed by dozens of springs the Suwannee is highly protected and undeveloped. Skiers love the glassy, uncrowded conditions. The State of Florida owns most of the riverfront and that makes it both special and secluded from crowds. You will find few homes and very few rentals on this river because of its protected status. Either way you will be in Bell on Route 129\. After you reach Bell, find the Library. It will be on your right just past the Jiffy Store which is also on the right. Directly across the street is Strickland Ave. (Rte 342), take a left and go for 3 miles. You will come to the intersection of 341\. Go straight across the intersection, you will now be on a dirt road. Continue for 1.1 miles then turn right. Continue 1.5 miles then turn left, go another 0.4 mile then turn right on NE 73rd Terr, go 0.7 mile bear left, go 0.2 mile bear right at fork. Continue 0.9 mile , then take a left on NW 82nd Terr. The house is approx .25 mile down on the right. These are the only incidents being alleged for this extra charge. Other than that everything else was fine. Great location and accommodations! Good communication with the host until the end. We took a few years break as life happens and kids happened but they are finally old enough to go and enjoy it. We love staying here, it is very serene, I love the upgrades that have been done, all new carpeting, new bathroom upgrades, furniture upgrades. The owners are super nice, answer any questions quickly, we actually left things in the dryer and they are sending them to us. Can't ask for better place to rent. In addition to that, we go scalloping every year in Steinhatchee, a quick 45 min drive and we were there to scallop 3 days and then come back to the river to relax in the freshwater. Watch for coffee grounds on the inside top of coffee maker that needs cleaning. Ceiling fans in master bed room could of use a good dusting. Fishing off the dock did not disappoint as we caught several fish and even an eel. Definitely would return here in the warmer months when we can truly enjoy the river and springs!! ##### Carolyn J. My kids had a lot of fun! A few things that must be repaired — small amount of water coming out of both bathroom sink, bbq grill not working, and oven was not working. There are a bout 4 miles of dirt road to get to this location and it had been raining so that was a pain. We ended up driving around in circles to find the boat ramp because there isn't enough cell service to keep 'maps' on from the house to the boat ramp. The grill would not work (propane) and we had brought food specifically for the grill so ended up having to leave the property to make other arrangements for meals. The dock is very nice! The house is dated but it was comfortable and clean. ##### Craig W. As someone had previously mentioned if you are not willing to be in the woods and secluded then this is not the place for you. We absolutely enjoyed the house, the dock, and the river. We spent lots of time jumping off the dock into the river and playing with our kids. This house is centrally located to all the springs that you could possibly want to get to. Can’t wait for our next visit to the Suwanee River. ##### Katie K. The only thing I was thrown off was how remote it is and little to no cell reception. The property was clean, check-in was easy and had no problems during our stay. Our hosts were very responsive.
