Villa Suzi is made for slow, sociable summer days, a traditional holiday house set among the vineyards and olive groves of the countryside near Barban. Life here gravitates outdoors, to a large private pool ringed with sun loungers and a generous summer kitchen. Under its covered roof, long tables and benches gather everyone for barbecue dinners and long, unhurried meals that stretch late into the evening with a glass of local wine in hand and with hills turning golden around.

Inside, a bright open-plan living, dining and kitchen area fills the ground floor, warmed by a fireplace for cooler nights, with a second lounge upstairs for quieter moments. The villa sleeps eight across four bedrooms, and the real treat is that every one has its own en-suite shower room, so nobody shares. Three are doubles and one a twin, with a ground-floor bedroom for anyone avoiding stairs, plus a guest WC and a handy poolside toilet.

Fully fenced and thoroughly private, it is an easy, comfortable base for two families or a group of friends to holiday together, with plenty of room to gather and to slip away. Cooled throughout and surrounded by the food, wine and gentle pace of rural Istria, this is a place to unwind and do very little at all.

Villa Suzi sits in Orihi, a tiny, traditional village in the green heart of Istria, all stone houses and unhurried rhythm. The village itself has a small grocery shop and a well-regarded local restaurant, while the charming town of Barban, a few minutes\' drive away, offers a fuller range of shops, cafés, restaurants and services, along with cultural events and plenty of authentic Istrian character.

This is one of Croatia\'s great gastronomic corners, famous for its wines, olive oils and rich country cooking, with picturesque hill villages, vineyards and quiet lanes made for walking and cycling. When you fancy the sea, the pretty bays of Raša and Trget are about fifteen minutes away by car, with clear water for swimming and snorkelling. Pula Airport is approximately a 25-minute drive from this holiday villa in Orihi.
