If you want to visit the Royal Family...Balmoral Estates is 5 minutes away and Balmoral Castle (where the Royal family stays) is only 15 minutes drive by car. Located within walking distance of Dormie Cottage are cafes, restaurants and pubs. Make sure to check out the Old Railway Station...It might surprise you. Also close by is the Historic Town of Braemar. Depending on the time of year you are visiting. We loved everything about our stay at Dormie Cottage! It was perfect for us and the best part was the fireplace! This is a great place for two adult groups traveling together as the bedrooms are very private and on opposite ends of the house. It is accessible, has two great bathrooms with a full stocked kitchen. It has a great living area, both inside and out. It was so nice on a chilly day to roam the Scottish Highlands and return to a large kitchen and a warm fireplace! The house is set back from the road and is very quiet and peaceful.
