Two downstairs bedrooms, and full downstairs bathroom. Huge basement recreation room with exercise equipment, basketball, pool table, TV and two sofa beds. Wrap-around deck includes shaded porch in woods for privacy and serenity in Adirondack setting on private road. Beautiful lakefront access. Close to Auburn (8 miles), Skaneateles (13 miles), and Cayuga wine trails. The house is spacious, with three large bedrooms, a generous kitchen, open living and dining areas, and a large basement — perfect for relaxing or spending time with family. Everything was neat, clean, and well-maintained. The check-in process was smooth and hassle-free, and the surrounding area is absolutely stunning. Weedy and overgrown on the outside. Inside, the downstairs shower was leaking and wouldn't shut off. When we pointed this out on the phone to the host's mother (who had answered) she became defensive and stated that she wanted us out the next day. The host finally answered via e-mail the next day and agreed to send a plumber who confirmed the leak and had to order a part which made the shower unusable for the remainder of our stay. There was a cooler there for drinking water but mostly empty, quickly ran out. We had to contact host again to get more which arrived in the early evening. Also the grill gas ran out during our last grilling and there was no more available. Our son, a facilities manager for a large property management firm, noted several other violations of NY property code. When we contacted VRBO to try and get this straightened out, your representative was not helpful. BOTTOM LINE: We will never book through VRBO again. There are other online rental sites that do a much better job. We will be sharing our experience with as many people as we know. This property could benefit from the host visiting it to check on condition and making arrangements to fix it. PHOTOS of what we described are available on request. ##### Maureen W. The peace and quiet of the lake woods and amazingly beautiful home made for a grand time together. There are a lot of stairs and slate walkways which may not be the best for much older renters, but we especially enjoyed the open feeling and views in the A frame and the ambience of the huge fireplace. There is a complete kitchen with everything you need - you could happily hide away above Lake Owasco and enjoy the Fall leaves and lake view, even if it is too cold to swim! ##### Janet F. Séjour de 3 nuits en octobre 2024 ### 4/10 – Médiocre #### Voyageur vérifié 16 août 2024 #### clean house - poorly maintained Clean on arrival Poor maintenance overall Lots of little things add up Lower patio is overgrown with thick weeds, chairs and table set worn and rusty weeds would be all over your legs if you sat there Wood retaining wall along edge of lower patio is crumbling exposing rusty bolts Trash cans full on arrival No curb appeal Exterior steps to main door covered in mildew which makes for very slippery steps when wet TV Sound very muffled and distorted Lights burned out in ceiling fan in main room Only 3 wash clothes when linens are provided for 6-8 guests Wet linens found in dryer 3 days after arrival Not enough utensils for family of 5 for more than 1.5 meals Nonstick pans scratched up Dishwasher not attached to anything, every time open the door almost falls out, bottom rack falls between the door and the unit with a loud bang Upper deck furniture is cushioned, which was often wet and unusable nowhere to eat outside on upper deck for more than 2 people Barbq grill is shot, the burners are all disintegrated all you have is a large flame Notified owner on 2 occasions about issues never heard back 3 days later maintenance came unannounced Unable to fix TV sound or ceiling fan light, did remove trash 5 days after our arrival During rainstorms water continuously dripped down chimney on the firebox with a loud dripping noise 1 paddleboard is youth size wt limit of 130 lbs Instructions in unit are from previous owner with previous owner’s name and contact info Owner changed 2 yearsago ##### Voyageur vérifié Séjour de 7 nuits en août 2024 ### 10/10 – Excellent #### Jacqueline D. 14 août 2024 Points forts : Propreté This is such a private, peaceful property. The house was beautiful and very clean. The wrap around porch was great for the kids. We rented a pontoon for the day and conveniently docked it for a lunch break! We sat out by the fire pit in the backyard every evening. The lake is a very short walk from the house. The beach area is rocky, but other than that was as described. It was a very relaxing, peaceful getaway! ##### Jackie T. We had such a great time, we decided to return and we created more great memories. The cabin is old and rustic but clean and well appointed. The beds were comfortable. We had two married couples in the main floor bedrooms, my aged father in the upstairs master bedroom, two teenage boys in the basement, and a tween daughter on the couch in the great room (main floor). We enjoyed playing on the lake and we used the cabin as our base for visiting other locations such as the historical sites of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Sacred Grove, Hill Cumorah, Whitmer Farm, Grandin Press), Watkins Glen, and the Strong Museum of Play. It does take an hour to 90 minutes to reach these locations but the drive is worth it to stay right on Owasco Lake in the beautiful, tranquil setting. One evening, I simply sat in a lawn chair around dusk and waited for birds and critters to come out. I saw a woodpecker, other birds, a squirrel, and a rabbit. You cannot beat the peace and quiet. We also roasted hotdogs one night over the fire pit. The host was easy to contact and responsive. Mainly, we wanted to know checkout procedures, which were minimal. Overall, I recommend the cabin and we may return again some day. ##### Voyageur vérifié Séjour de 5 nuits en juin 2024 ### 8/10 – Bien #### Joseph F. 1 juin 2024 Points forts : Propreté #### Beautiful Owasco Lake Property My family enjoyed a seven night stay at Nick’s property. Beautiful views of Owasco Lake were only a short walk down from the main porch. We were greeted by Jack, the local cat from a nearby lakehouse, most evenings. The property offered close driving proximity to Auburn, Skaneateles, and other Finger Lakes Region locales. Do be careful with the hardwood floors, particularly the stairs leading to the master bedroom (I had a slip and fall while in socks). Additionally, uneven terrain around the cabin and deck could be difficult for young and elderly guests. Overall, we had a pleasant stay, and Nick was very quick to respond to questions regarding check-in and check-out through the app. Thank you for hosting us! ##### Joseph F.
