The house is clean and renewed well, not showing its age at all. Kitchen is clean, bathroom is modern. Location is a 5m hilly walk away from nearest train station, not a problem for me. The single, biggest issue is that the "beds" in the house are thin pads on top of hardwood frames - absolutely zero comfort. It's worse than a traditional futon on tatami. That's pretty much where the positives end. It's a share house style place, entry door is open 24/7 so anyone can come and go. The house is old, smells, noisy (neighbors and wind). They basically took a traditional house, threw in a bunch of random crap and call it a guest house.
