Great location in downtown Asheville - many bars and restaurants walkable. Welcoming and friendly staff, lovely room for breakfast and a good offering with baked goods, egg bakes, overnight oats, yogurt and fresh fruit - endless supply of fresh coffee!
Exceeded expectations for our stay. Personable staff shared their story and experiences of the unique property with us. Highly recommend and will definitely stay there again next trip to Asheville.
Beautiful property - our room was large, clean and the bed was comfy. The location was within walking distance of everything in downtown Asheville. The only cons were that there was no elevator to help with our luggage to the 3rd floor. Also, the shower water pressure was not really great - no matter how you adjusted the shower head flow. We would stay there again.
Great location, less crowded area of downtown and cleaner. Well preserved historic hotel homes, very clean, and quiet. Room decor and finishes are luxurious, elegant, and on trend. Easy to find and parking was easy. The continental breakfast pastries and the wine selection were good. We didn't get a chance to try cocktails but would love to next time.
Such a charming retreat steps away from all that downtown has to offer! Walkable to all our favorite spots, we enjoyed the plush, spacious suite and the charming staff at the desk and bar. Comfortable room for sleeping, large bathroom well stocked with towels, a quiet place to sit outside for the afternoon, chess and coffee in the evening, a lovely spread for breakfast—we wanted for nothing! A delightful spot to stay. We will return!
Lovely unique hotel with spacious rooms, lovely breakfast and helpful staff. It is perfectly located to be able to walk to shops and restaurants, and less than a 10 minute drive to The Biltmore.
Close to the center of town by only a few blocks yet with a secluded and restful vibe. Great characterful rooms across multiple remodeled Victorian buildings made this a memorable stay. A cosy bar, great continental breakfasts and great local scene guidance add to a 10/10 experience. Most significantly while it is not staffed 24/7 the daytime staff could not have done more to help with grace and a warm smile. Probably some of the most professional, welcoming and genuinely interested staff I have ever come across in many hotel stays around the world. Can't wait to return
Overall, great stay. Breakfast was excellent - more than continental. Check in was a little clumsy as the ‘front’ desk is actually in a separate bldg and the clerk had to check 3 separate groups in at the same time and then walk us all to our bldgs and rooms. Seems like they need an additional person working the check in area during peak times (this was ~5pm).
The visit was awesome, the staff was helpful and non obtrusive. The room, grounds and common outside areas were gorgeous and the hotel is in a great location to home base and explore from. Breakfast bites were awesome and much appreciated. The free drink voucher at the bar was a great touch.
Lovely historic homes transformed into unique modern hotel rooms! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Walkable to so much of downtown restaurants, shops & breweries. Very clean with plenty of amenities. Breakfast included was delicious every day. Helpful staff. Nice outdoor seating area. We lived our stay in Asheville at Zelda Dearest!
This hotel is adorable. Jake at check in was so helpful and got out a map and wrote down restaurants, bars and art galleries that he recommends. It was so helpful and all were great recommendations. Location is perfect for walking too.
Our room was beautiful and huge. If there was a drawback, it would be that our room was loud. This is to be expected in an old house so it didn’t bother us too much. We were directly above the bar/ restaurant area and you could hear people talking outside our door after getting home late at night.
Maybe request one of the other two houses if planning to stay here. Overall, it didn’t bother us and the place was great.
Zelda Dearest felt like a cross between a hotel and a B&B, and we totally enjoyed our stay, Our room was one of the best we have ever experienced (I’m a room snob), and the breakfast was phenomenal (Vege Frittata, chocolate banana bread, blueberry muffins, biscuits and jam, overnight oats, berries, yogurt, OJ). I’ve done both, and I much preferred the self parking over the other hotels’ valet-only option. Depending on where your room is located, there can be a lot of stairs to traverse, same as it would be in a B&B. Staff were friendly and helpful.
The downtown location of this hotel is incredible - you can walk to restaurants, shops, and breweries. Parking was easy, the room was TO DIE for, the whole property is incredibly clean, tbe breakfast is delicious, there’s coffee/tea/water all the time, the patio between houses is super nice, the bed was super comfy and the bathroom was amazing. 15/10, literally cannot wait to go back.
We travel to Asheville multiple times per year. This is an amazing boutique hotel. Great location. Beautifully appointed rooms. A delicious continental breakfast. Warm staff. 5 stars all around!
