Alpine Chapel Tours and Activities

I arrived at the Strater Hotel on 10/13 for a 4 night stay. My first impression was WOW this is beautiful! The decor, antiques, the furnishings and relics were amazing. Our room had a Queen Bed and a Twin and was a nice size for the two of us. (This was a girls trip). The bathroom was lacking in counter space but was ok. I am a severe allergy sufferer so dust is one of my worst enemies! By the second day that I was there I was in a full blown allergy attack. While I realize this is a very old "Historic" hotel, "old" does not mean that it has to be dirty! Unfortunately it was not the outdoor allergens that had me down it was the dust in our room. This was not something that I went looking for but when I dropped a tissue on the floor and bent down to pick it up I could not believe what I was seeing! The dust along the baseboard where the carpet met up to it was so thick that it looked like a line of gray paint! I then started paying attention to other areas in the room (under the bed) and all around, I will tell you, it looked as if it had not been cleaned in a VERY VERY long time! I did bring this to the attention of the front desk and am sharing it here not to bad mouth the hotel, however, if you are an allergy sufferer I would strongly advise you to choose another hotel.
