Kitchen was unfortunately closed as the inn recently changed plans, so we had to venture out. We had no hot water for showers when we arrived, but the new assistant manager promptly got to work getting it sorted out so we could enjoy a hot shower before bed. Bed was comfy, room and washrooms clean. Parking on site was great.
Checked-in at the bar where staff were all helpful and welcoming. The room (and bed) was very comfortable with good blackout blinds. Central location so very convenient for exploring Alnwick. We’ll stay here again.
*The staff were helpful
*lovely spacious room with large bed and bathroom
*large TV but limited channels
*great tea/coffee facilities (staff even brought us some free fresh milk)
*no hot water in the morning and no staff, so choice was either not to shower or have a cold shower....another customer we saw said theirs was the same

The accommodation is in a good location. Parking is available although it's accessible through a very narrow alley way.
The staff was one person who ran the bar and cleaned the rooms.
Access to the rooms was up stairs which were steep and not suitable for persons with walking problems.
Breakfast was advertised on the website but was not available as there was no staff to provide it.
Overall the accommodation was okay, but I would not use it again.
Entrance to car park is very narrow if you have a big car. Front door closed at 10pm so would have to access from rear of property up steep stairs to fire exit and enter with fob. We were back by 9:45pm and we could not buy a drink as last orders had been called 🙁. But clean, comfortable room and central so would stay again for price.
Perfect location between Barter Book and the Playhouse with bus stop right outside. Clean, quiet, comfortable. Nice patio outside to enjoy summer evenings. Not fancy, but if your tastes are simple and you want an affordable base from which to explore the area, this is the place for you.
Hotel really good. Excellent location. A bit disappointed there was no room for us to eat on first night. But hotel was lovely and clean and decor was spot on. Nice there was parking at back of hotel. Would definately stay again.
The hotel was very nice in a great location unfortunately it was very cold and the hotel was understaffed with 2 people seeming to do all the work. Food was good but took over an hour to arrive.
Very clean, lovely staff, great parking and good bar.
However, the room was freezing and had to sleep in my coat. Radiator never came on even though it was set to high.
Also, need more than just 1 sachet of milk.
It was My first stay at the Plough & I was extremely impressed. My room (The Muckle) was just what I needed, plenty of space clean, comfortable bed, nice bathroom. The staff were very helpful & friendly. Plenty of room in the car park. I was so impressed I immediately booked My next stay at the Plough

Excellent location with its own car parking albeit with a very tight entrance. A busy pub hotel and checking in was somewhat chaotic as there seemed to be difficulty with the check-in software. This hotel does not provide breakfast. Very noisy because of other guests until 4:00am.
It was a pleasant stay after visiting Alnwick Gardens. The room was about average size but walk up on third floor. The room was clean and as usual air conditioning was provided by opening the window. Parking is available but not for the faint of heart if you are not used to driving in the UK. Would consider staying there again if we are ever in the area.
The hotel was clean and comfortable. The room that i was in had a very high window so absolutely no view. The staff were very friendly and informed me that they had literally just taken over the property. Food wasnt an option as due to the take over they had no chef.

Disappointing, awaiting new management. Searched hotels.com for rooms with breakfast and booked The Plough. Confirmation revealed no breakfast included. In fact, no food was being served while we were there.
Only one member of staff on duty to greet guests between answering phone and serving the bar. Helped with some of our luggage but had to manage most of it ourselves to top floor rooms, no lift. Rooms nice with clean and comfy bed, but no milk with the tea making tray, no information pack, no contact for any issues. No milk at all available, even with the coffee machine behind the bar. A staff member bought milk for guests when he finished his shift.
We found other places to dine but as the bar at The Plough closed at 9pm, front door access was locked and we had to come back in via the fire escape. For breakfast we had to leave that way too as the doors were locked until the bar opened.
Speaking to the cleaner, we found that rooms are not serviced unless you leave a paper hanger on the door. No hanger or explanation was in our rooms.
The check out process was unstaffed, we had to leave our keys in the door which seems insecure.
An unusual set up, desperately in need of help from Alex Pollizzi. I hope the new management reopens the kitchens, and includes some form of breakfast offering. They should establish a more efficient and secure check in system. The staff try hard, but lack the support and guidance to present themselves as a welcoming and effective team.

Location is perfect, bed was very comfortable. Suited our needs when we were at a wedding and only needed a bed for the night. Boutique it is not though and was rather expensive for what you get. A toilet that struggles to flush paper and abysmal workmanship on the silicone sealant round the shower. Access to room after hours and egress in the morning via a poorly maintained, rickety fire escape due to no staff on site overnight.

Run down hotel with no catering & virtually no staff & difficult access to car park. No ventilation in stuffy bedroom as windows were sealed shut. We had to use fire escape at the back for access as front door was locked overnight; no breakfast available so we saw ourselves out.
A note on the door gave a mobile number to phone in an emergency, with a warning that response time could be up to an hour!
Even Faulty Towers was better than this, tho to be fair the bed was comfortable!
