Great place to stay while waiting on your cruise to begin. Nice and quiet. Rooms have seen better days. They also insist on closing out your tab after each drink. Not sure why they do this, but it was incredibly annoying.

They keep chickens on the property, probably to have fresh eggs. That's fine, BUT they have a couple of roosters. Well, the roosters are literally screaming at 2:30 in the morning non-stop - hard to stay asleep. Ridiculous!

The resort was above and beyond our expectations. The breakfast buffet was outstanding - especially the fresh pastries and the omelette bar manned by Heinz. The snorkeling right off shore was fabulous. If we ever are able to return to Moorea, we will definitely stay at the Sofitel Kia Ora again!

"If you want or need "fancy", Punatea Village may dissappoint. But if you insist on charming, pleasant, beautiful, and inspiring, you'll love this place. It's a bit "out of the way", but then that's perhaps its best feature... except the staff. For example, the operating manager comes out early each ..."
