But the major issue was at dinner when a lady (probably the owner) approached us explaining that because there was not going to be electricity the next day I had to prepay all expenses + any future expenses, which I gladly did... but there was no electricity shortage the next day, even when I asked an employee they didn’t know what was so talking about. It seems to me and please correct me if I am wrong that somehow Spanish speaking visitors are not welcome. Buffet am abend mäßig. Management wirkt nicht sehr interessiert. ACHTUNG! bucht man eine Tour in den Park INKL. The hotel was built last century, and has the charm of an African Safari Lodge. The staff have been working there for years, and are great for whatever you need. Nice gardens to walk around. It's a phenomenal place with great views and good proximity to Addo Elephant National Park. Breakfast and food were excellent, and the atmosphere is like a 1920's game lodge. The gardens and grounds are well-kept, and the chalets are amazingly decorated. If you do stay here, take the road from the south and not the north (the Zuurburg Pass is really for 4X4 plus vehicles). Vorallem wenn man am nächsten Tag Richtung Cradock fahren möchte. Wir hatten einen VW Polo und waren sehr froh als wir wieder auf einer geteerten Straße ankamen nach ca 1,5 Stunden! Die Unterkunft ist bei Nacht auch sehr schwer zu finden. Die Zimmer sind super ausgestattet, das Essen war gut und das Personal sehr freundlich. Es bietet eine gemütliche Atmosphäre, da man abends an der Bar oder vor dem Kamin sitzen kann. Das Hotel/Lodge liegt auf dem Zuurberg Mountain welches man über eine 16 KM lange Schotterpiste erlangt. Man hat einen tollen Blick über die üppig grün gewachsene Buschlandschaft. Die Besitzer und die Angestellten waren sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Sie haben Ideen für diverse Freizeitaktivitäten (Game drive , Reiten, Wandern usw….) vorgeschlagen und organisiert . Als unsere Tochter mit Fieber erkrankte wurde sie von allen Seiten bemuttert. Ein Super Service.
